From a t-shirt I once saw:

Is wishful thinking schadenfreude when it's in the best interest of the nation, or is it more like the definition of killing during war?

C’mon be reasonable. What would become of Congress if we started throwing out Democrats for lying?

Because the media always provides cover for politicians with the letter (D) by their name.

Seems Congress is little more than a mirror of what America has become. Its NOT them its US who are to blame. They continue to be elected.

I thought the headline read "Leahy Dies."

Oh well, nevermind.

Leaky, is nothing more than a by product of a system that rewards blind political loyality and the belief that senority benefits the “folks at home” . The ability to “bring home the bacon” transcends statesmanship, a term not used for politicians in many a year,to focus on retention of position for political(budgetary) control. He’s a classic example for the need for congressional term limits. Besides, these clowns really don’t run thjings. It’s the staffs and bureaucracy. They just allocated our money and sign the checks, so to speak.

“How does this guy have a job?”

Easy, because most voters are STUPID. All they are interested in is “He is bringing home the bacon” and that is all that counts. There is a cure for ignorance but stupid is terminal.

Just wondering:

If the Connecticut firemen issue had been different, I wonder how the Supreme Court nominee would have ruled.

That is, let's suppose that not a single white person passed the test, while everyone who passed the test was either black or Hispanic.

My question is this: Would the Supreme Court nominee had still ruled that the Connecticut city was correct in throwing out the test because no white person passed the test?
