When I woke up early this morning, the cats were gone; all outdoors.
Curious about the phenomenon, I went into the kitchen and looked out one of the large windows there. I had a visitor, the soil scientist. She was out in the garden, picking some of the "volunteer" broccoli.
It was very foggy early this morning, but she saw me looking at her, and waved.
For a chick from a wealthy family in southern Maryland, she looked as natural and wholesome and contented as strawberries-and-cream out here in the Sandhills of Nebraska. She's average height for a woman (i.e., about 9-10 inches shorter than I), petite, gentle skin, aquiline nose, good teeth, and was wearing a scarf tied around her brunette hair.
This far-distant relative of the late Clare Boothe Luce, is already one good-looking woman at the age of 27 years, but one suspects the longer she stays here, by the time she's 35 years old, she's going to be a real dazzler, oozing grace and class and elegance out of every pore.
Some women, unlike primitives, just get better and better with time.

There's lots and lots of stories about this man-made geographic feature at conservativecave, but as explained this time, it's been a while since any such updates.
Maybe some day I will collect them all together, and submit them to the National Geographic or something.
Ping for the list; I hope this is of interest.
Is this the guy that posts over at DU?

awesome storytelling
Thanks for the update on the William Rivers Pitt. Interesting stuff, Frank. The respondents on your site are feeling their oats tonight. ; - )
"You can almost here the man at the piano in the background:
'You must remember this,
A kiss is still a kiss, A sigh is just a sigh...'"
I was thinking along the same line...
"What a difference a day made
Twenty four little hours
Brought the sun and the flowers
Where there used to be rain..."
Have a great day, Frank :)
