Stating flatly that Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor is no racist, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) gave a clear indication that the first Hispanic nominee for the Court will have smooth sailing in the Senate, even from Republicans.
According to The Hill, Graham provided this interesting exchange which depicts his clear-as-mud thinking on this issue:

Lets turn it around a bit. Imagine McCain saying this during a debate:
I would hope that a wise white man with the richness of his experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a black male who hasn’t lived that life.
That’s the GOP talking point today. I heard Bill Bennet (What a squishy weak sister he’s turned out to be) say today at least a half dozen times, “Clearly Judge Sotomayor is not a racist” and “Everybody knows she’s not a racist”, while he was talking to Byron York this morning.

Anyway, I watched some of the Sunday shows and was angrier at “our” team than the RATS. Can’t ANY of these idiots come out and speak the truth? How much more obviously racist does a statement have to BE before these pinheads admit it?
I’m really thinking of re-registering as an Independent. If these imbeciles represent what a Republican is supposed to be (and they do) I don’t want to be any part of it.
If the KKK was smart, they would rebrand themselves as “The Race” and use the same slogans as La Raza. Then we can sit back and watch the media explain why that is bad when whites say it and good when browns say it.
