The Battle of the Sexes, where the women's field of elite runners competed against the men, didn't pan out the way race officials had hoped. Even after giving the women an 18 and a half-minute head start, five of the Elite men finished before the top woman.
The interesting thing isn't that the men won even when the women were given an unfair advantage. What's interesting is the fact that the officials were hoping that a woman would win. But if stacking the deck so that a woman will win is the point, then why not go all the way and make it a five-hour head start?

A good question would be to ask what kind of woman would consider herself to be a “winner” in such a race. If you give me an 8 second head start I can win the 100 yard dash gold medal at the Olympics, but I’d never do it, as I’d look like an idiot standing on the platform to get my medal.
Why, that “Vox Day” is better than everyone else, of course. That’s the point of all his writing.
How about for the next race, we see how long men can hold a glass of water at arm’s length vs women?
An intellectually honest woman would not. A “self-esteem” deprived feminazi would. And if anyone dare point the truth out to her, she would wail and scream how it’s “all the patriarchy’s fault!”
I wonder why they chose eighteen and a half minutes. If they’d chosen 25 it looks like a woman would have “won.” Maybe they can do that next hear.
Or perhaps they could start them at the same time, but station guys along the route to trip the men every few minutes. That would be a rough approximation of the discrimination women face all the time.
I recall seeing Chris Evert on the Donahue show (ashamed to admit) when she was, at the time, the #1 women’s tennis player in the world and was married to John Lloyd, a men’s player ranked in the 100’s. Phil asked her how her husband felt about her being a better player than him and she said that she could never come close to beating her husband in tennis.
Of course, a few years earlier Billy Jean King, at the top of her game, beat a fify something Bobby Riggs and the media hailed it as a great accomplishment.

The King-Riggs match was clearly a work, done in true pro-wrestling promotion style. There was never any doubt in the outcome.
Riggs was happy to have the attention and the payday, and to do the job for BJK.
