Robert Welch's 1958 Predictions Against American Liberties
The Voice Magazine ^ | Jonas Clark

Posted on 04/27/2009 9:39:40 AM PDT by Sound of Liberty

In 1958 Robert Welch, founder of the John Birch Society, made some startling predictions against American Liberty. He believed there was a group of insiders intent on “the surrender of American sovereignty piece by piece and step by step to various international organizations of which the United Nations is the outstanding but far from the only example.” He laid out his predictions in 10 points and repeated them in a 1974 conference:

1. Greatly expanded government spending for every conceivable means of getting rid of ever larger sums of American money as wastefully as possible.

It is unbelievable that this whole country kept their eyes closed to the communist threat and genocide of 100 million.

When will it end?

Well, it looks like Welch and Skousen are correct and I daresay so was Senator Joe McCarthy.

Just a lucky guess?

Presumably Janet would claim it is only a coincidence their goals are identical
with socialist scenarios forecast by "extremists."

What would they have said if he had predicted this would be led by an aggressive female wrestler type and an Afro-Marxist former drug user president??? Calls to lock him away and throw away the key?

Well I'm old enough to remember all these guys and you are correct in your assessment of them. Welsh and the John Birch Society were simply "demagogued" to death by the media but it was clear as a bell to me back in the 50's that Welsh knew what he was talking about. Those 10 points are dead on the money.

Great Post.

Wife and I have been members for years.

No wonder the JBS was smeared so vehemently, eh?

I am 46 years old.

The JBS has been insulted by the GOP for as long as I can remember.

"We need to get the John Birch Party on the 2010 Ballot..wadded pantie’s for libs and rino’s."

Wrong answer!

We need to concentrate all conservative voters behind a single conservative ticket.

We do not need dilution of our vote by any future Perots, Pauls, or JBSs...

Yes. When will more people realize we have a one party system?

I voted Republican the last 10 years, and look where they are. We get McCainism! I am voting for the best candidate that promises to honor the Constitution and shut down half (or more) of government! Eliminate entitlements, reduce taxes by 50%, or more. And put the Obama lawyers and his extended cabinet, Pelosi, Reid on trial for tyranny.

If the republicans turn it around, I will vote with them. But if we get another McCain, I am voting for Ron Paul.

Well that rules out the GOP pretty much right from the start.

“40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.”

Yeah, the leftists really nailed that one.

I literally thank God every day that the NY Times and its ilk are dying a slow and miserable death. Maybe there is hope.

Let me add that we need a young unknown entity that is as sharp as a tack and will stop playing by the ground rules of the marxist/relativists.

What about “no represenatation without taxation”

I dont think that the 50% of the voters that live off of us and dont pay taxes should not be able to vote!

The NYT needs to die a painful death as reporters are forced to admit their entire worldview is insanely wrong and they have only themselves to blame for the death of the old grey lady.
