ROTFLMAO! good one.
Maybe more a plot to terrorize—
30,000 Americans die of the flue every year. It is now almost may and this strain has killed 81 Mexicans.
Can I sell you some stuff for Y2K? you might need it again in 3000.
Not so much here, but I've read more than one comment that some seem happy as it could mean a reduction in world population which I find distasteful and alarming.
I'm concerned about some of what I'm looking up now. In I believe it was about 1999, a scientist named Taubenberger got samples of the 1918 flu virus and partial genetic sequencing, but the RNA was damaged. So the first attempt failed, but another tissue sample was obtained from a victim buried in the Alaskan permafrost and led to the full discovery. The genome sequencing and method was posted on the internet!
The world took little notice at the time, but there were safety issues raised in the Guardian. I don't know if the current strain is exactly the duplicate or not, but it is not too far fetched to think that a variant could be bioengineered, not saying it was.
So while not wanting to feed into a conspiracy, I don't necesarily believe everything can be explained by coincidence. Regardless, I doubt we will ever know the full truth about it.
Ethics of reconstructing Spanish Flu: Is it wise to resurrect a deadly virus? (nature.com)
There are multiple other references out there, but it sounded like a bad idea at the time as I did hear something about it in the news.
Are the folks south of the border that organized to pull this off?
The only thing they seem to pull off with any sort of regularity is leaving Mexico to get here.
Where do you get this from?
The flu annually kills 30K very old and usually very sick people with otherwise compromised immune systems. When the very healthy start to succumb to the flue, it quickly gets the attention of people who work with communicable diseases for a living.
It’s difficult to reply to such a thread: I’m laughing too hard.
Yes, it does. It's the most compelling part of this article, in fact.
Or perhaps those who work with communicable diseases for a living (the key point you made, actually) have color televisions; have internet connections, and recently noticed the government spending TRILLIONS - and are applying for some “bailout” money?...
Just saying.
I am wondering if it was more of a test run to see how things spread, how far will it get and how fast etc. They will have a great source of info as the CDC will make public every case where it happened etc. It will be like having a real time test for a more deadly virus. The pieces fit; not a normal strain, more than one person thinking it looks manufacutured, highly contagious so spreading can be monitored, and if it came from Mexico, you are looking at the easiest and most likely entry point for any bio attack. This is just my opinion, and I am not a medical person by nature, but I am a thinker, and this does make sense to me.
It is interesting to see people laugh at this idea. Do those same people laugh at the idea that people are wondering if this is a bio-terrorism man made flu?
It isn’t that much of a stretch to then think that it could be used to try to kill off a Head of State.
However, I would be more inclined to think this was the case if it was Bush and not Obama.
Obama is their man. He will destroy the America we know. They need him.
But do protect your furry friends:
It is in the Bible.
Revelation 13: 3-4
NO. It is a terrorist attack on the USA. They don’t WANT to infect Obama - he is on their side.
Ni, actually I believe it to be the High Tech attempt by the Muslim terrorist who want to kill us all.
It had been reported, last year I think that quite a few people from Muslim dominated countries had entered Mexico, and (shocker) disappeared.
If they can’t cause terror one way (blowing up buildings, schools, ect) then they can cause terror. suspicion, and in this case massive amounts of death by releasing a lab created virus.
Not a nut, just someone who understands basic lab work.
Why assasinate BHO? He’s bending over backwards (and bowing over forwards) to please them.
