The New Thoughtcrime (Comparing Barack Obama to Hugo Chavez)

When you’re a popular leader with the occasional delusion of Godhood, how do you deal with people that oppose your policies and point out just how dangerous and demeaning they are? Don’t bother with facts or pussyfoot around with debates, no siree. You tell them to shut the hell up. And, in the unlikely event that they don’t shut their traps, you take measures to make them shut up.

This is the strategy being employed by both President Obama of the United States and President Chavez of Venezuela. Neither men are really all that interested in numbers, facts, or reality as they drive hellbent-for-leather toward socialism, and anyone who gets in the way is going to feel their wrath.

In Venezuela, Chavez made his point in 2007 by refusing to renew the broadcast license of Radio Caracas Television (RCTV). This sent a chill through the media, causing them to engage in self-censorship. Still, a dissenting voice was allowed, at least as long as they didn’t get too uppity.

However, his dictatorial dreams still unfulfilled, he has commanded those members of his party to draw up a “map of the media war”. In other words, to point out those who oppose him and his plans. Those journalists not on board the great nationalization are being told that free speech is a privilege, not a right.

In the United States, President Obama enjoys a near constant bl*wj*b from the mainstream media. Even supposed conservatives have put on the kneepads and blue dress for the man (although a few, like David Brooks, are starting to wonder where he got the “Castro was here” tattoo on his thigh). Despite the overwhelming glory of his supernatural being, Obama has had to deal with a handful of voices who point out that not only does the emperor have no clothes, but that the hang-glider he’s got the economy attached to looks suspiciously like an anvil

To wit, Obama has sent his press secretary Robert Gibbs after these naysayers, namely Rush Limbaugh, Rick Santelli, and Jim Cramer. Unlike previous administrations, Obama is more than happy to go toe-to-toe with media people who resist his Jedi mind tricks. These people have had the temerity, nay, the INSOLENCE, to question the Dali Bama and his plans. By pointing out the infidels, it is hoped by Gibbs and the administration that these political lepers would be shunned by the great masses and potential opposition.

For those who have drunk the Obama-brand kool-aide, this means that not only do they not have to think, but now they have their own personal censor to help them avoid pesky moments of doubt. For those of us who look at the Obama administration and cringe, it’s another incident of a government agency targeting its own citizens for thoughtcrime.

If you wonder what the future holds if these trends continue. I offer you this handy documentary.

We are truly the majority, yet we let this happen?

Once I thought so also. Yet, with every passing day and my travels here near my home I see signs that belie that thought.

Remnants of the 60s Great Society in the form of 'public' housing, tenants of Title 8 housing living interspersed among very formerly wealthy subdivisions (you can tell by the "hoopty's" in the driveway), constant flashes of EBT cards everywhere. People who should be working out and about spending, spending, spending (our money) - no apparent job in sight. Throngs of illegals at the bank cashing their checks and transferring money. Throngs of young illegal alien mothers pushing their 'anchor baby' strollers down to the bus stop, local convenience store. Young mothers with children at the SS office applying for disability/assistance payments for their children and immigrants with older parents immigrants applying for reciprocal social security benefits......

We are in the midst of a very massive assault on personal responsibility and we are losing, if not already lost. This next round of targeted Democratic giveaways of our hard earned treasure will fiscally enslave us all, including our children and their children. It is a very grim picture I see and it isn't going away.

The author might have mentioned the conspiracy of intimidation in Ohio among the state prosecutors to threaten prosecution against anyone who might defame Obama or misstate his policies.

He might have noted the pressure brought against Milton Rosenberg(?)a moderate to liberal talk show host Chicago who committed the effrontery of opening a microphone to Corsi.

He might have noted that the intimidation is succeeding in preventing virtually any discussion of Obama's status as a natural born citizen.

Everyone knows about this administration's threats against talk radio. It now appears that it will attempt to eliminate conservative talk radio with the imposition of local "Soviets" which will monitor content and ownership.

Of course, the cult of personality which surrounds Hugo Chavez is paralleled by the truly frightening and unnerving videos of America's little children singing with older children line dancing as well as singing in military garb the praises of Barak Obama.
