Give Obama some credit - he is preparing for Civil War II. The way things are going for him he may just get to fight that war.

So who can shoot better: Democrats or Republicans? Taken as read from this article, that question has to be asked.

“Asked to serve”. Or will they be conscripted?

The changes to the directives had been in works for months. I am a civilian in DOD in an E-E billet. These jobs are mainly in support functions (professional services, etc.). For example, I'm an historian in the AF and deploy with military forces overseas. Many overseas billets are also E-E and require the incumbent to remain in place during conflict, contingency, or emergency. Nothing sinister here ... this time.

I know that my brother FReeper meant well by posting this item, but the correct name for the source is "The Obama File" and it has no relationship to "truthers" and I do not represented it as a source of "the truth."
The Obama File is simply an archive of news and opinion items from mainstream media sources and reliable, if sometimes partisan, blogs. It provides attribution and/or links to the original source for every item archived. Many of the items have multiple sources/links.

Under this plan, all Americans between the ages of 18 and 25 will be asked to serve their country by going through three months of basic training, civil defense preparation and community serviceAmong Obama's supporters, what's the plan to mold obese welfare mothers, 75-IQ'd gangsta thugs and pot smoking college hippies into a disciplined fighting force? In case nobody's noticed, these demographics tend to eschew work in general and the military in particular.
I'm not quite shaking in my boots over this.

"Members of the DoD Civilian Expeditionary Workforce shall be organized, trained, cleared, equipped, and ready to deploy in support of combat operations by the military; contingencies; emergency operations; humanitarian missions; disaster relief; restoration of order; drug interdiction;"
For the purposes of the 50 states, this sounds like the stated job of the militia. Which has not gone away. The Militia Act of 1903 is still in force as far as I know which consists of the National Guard (the organized militia) and the unroganized militia which is all male citizens between the ages of 17 - 45. The unorganized militia is the militia referred to in our Constitution. It is to be used in all of the above named contingencies. If a state feels it is necessary, it can call out the unorganized militia to protect against the above contingencies. I'm pretty sure there will be civic minded patriots that answer the call.
