RELIC SHARPTON OUT OF MOTHBALLS … CRIES RACISM … POST SAYS BACK OFF

Like cockroaches and reality television, old race-baiters die hard. The truth is, however, there just hasn’t been a whole lot for Al Sharpton to do in recent times, except maybe tinker around with his Turbo Tax software. The papers simply aren’t plump with bogus stories of young black girls being raped by white cops anymore, or of nooses being hung from trees by young whites.

Not like they used to.

Those were the days, eh Al?

Today, it’s hard to imagine anyone more insignificant or more detached from the societal realities of American life than Reverend Al. After all, what’s an old blowhard with bad hair to do now that a black man has been elected President of the United States and Donald Trump has already chosen the cast of Celebrity Apprentice?

Visions of Sharpton wandering the floors of his home waiting for something – anything - to happen that would require him to spring into action as a civil rights crusader aren’t difficult to conjure.

I wonder if this was a deliberate act to get the head-chopper out of the news....

The left wants to claim we all descended from a monkey, then scream racism when they think the term applies to a black man? So isn’t the left actually saying that white men and black men aren’t the same? That’s racist!

Hmm, just this morning on Boston’s CBS newscast at 5 AM, we learned that the witnesses who’d been cooperating with the feds about Diane Wilkerson’s extortion, excuse me, alleged extortion scheme...she was videotaped stuffing money down her bra in a Boston bar, (having sent her young nephew out to the car). The quid pro quo was a Boston liquor license. Diane is black, and has held the seat in the legislature usually reserved for felons. Having been found guilty before of various felonies, but that’s neither here nor there. Her constituents in the last election were prodded to take part in a sticker campaign on her behalf.

The feds made the tape public, and finally Diane dropped out of the race. Now, however, the witness in her case and in one other, involving a black man... same offense, demanding bribes for liquor licenses...mysteriously have decided they will no longer cooperate with the feds. We’re seeing a trend here. (Blacks scream racism and whites back down.) Howie Carr will doubtless weigh in on this soon...Boston Herald, WRKO. Worth reading and listening to. Three PM, WRKO AM radio.

Excellent point, but I always thought the best response would be: “We’re not comparing Zer0 to a chimp. Everyone knows congress writes the appropriations legislation. We’re comparing Pelosi and Reid to a chimp. So the crackers should be the ones offended here.”

I hear that Sharpton didn't like the Post apology and is leading another demonstration in front of the Post building this afternoon.

Sharpton's biggest threat against the Post so far is to demand that Obama's FCC revoke the "waiver" it gave the Murdoch organization (NewsCorp) back in the Clinton years, whereby they were allowed to own the Post as well as local television stations in the New York market.

Considering what the Obama FCC may be up to in its approach to electronic media "regulation," it will be interesting to see whether the Murdoch organization stands on principle or eventually does an Don Imus-style mea culpa and knuckles under to Sharpton and his gang.

More insignificant? No, not if you're a Democrat in New York, apparently. Any 'Rat in NY interested in a top state or city job has to seek out and meet with Sharpton. Case in point, just a month or two ago: Caroline Kennedy had a famous lunch with him in Harlem as she announced she was a candidate for the US Senate seat vacated by Her Royal Thighness. Plus, Sharpton still has the capability, as shown with this Post incident, to draw the lefty MSM's attention to him on very short notice, and to gin up protest demonstrations by his "standing army."

More detached from the societal realities of American life? Seems like Eric Holder wants to give Sharpton a good run for his money in that area.

They say, "Never pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel."

It would be nice if the Post would do some investigating of the Sharpton Shakedowns and whatever other sources of funds the guy has; and maybe include some digging on the taxes he has paid or hasn't paid. They could also let us know how much stimulus money Sharpton will have direct control over.

They say, "Never pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel."

Strange, I never heard that adage before. But it's good advice in general, especially in the old days when newspapers were kings of the media.

However, Sharpie, as the infamous racial huckster that he is, knows he has sympathizers in high places in other, farther left, NY media outlets that don't particularly like Rupert Murdoch. He strung them all along with the Tawana Brawley hoax for years, and they were eating out of his hand. He even managed to get pretty favorable coverage out of his role in the Crown Heights riots. More recently, CBS knuckled under to his pressure and fired Don Imus.

So let's see how this tiff with the Murdoch organization plays out.
