Debate number two is in the books. Obama made it very clear last night, at every turn, that he is the New Deal/Great Society candidate, i.e. government is his answer first and always.
Question No. 1 How to fix our economic problems, Obama suggests government oversight and New Deal-like efforts to help state and local governments set up road projects and bridge projects.
Question No. 2 Obamas possible Secretary of the Treasury? He mentions again his middle class tax cut which for most of the people he targets is simply a govt check because 95% of Americans do not pay taxes.
Question No. 3. How does the bailout package help Main St.? Obama responds: Let me tell you what's in the rescue package for you. And the next president has to make sure that the next Treasury secretary is thinking about how to strengthen you as a home buyer, you as a homeowner . . .
Question No. 4. Is the economy going to get worse before it gets better? Obama calls for more regulation.
Question No. 5. How can either of you be trusted to fix the situation? Obama says: So here's what I would do. I'm going to spend some money on the key issues that we've got to work on.
Question No. 6. Prioritize health care, energy and entitlement reform. Obama on energy: That's why I've called for an investment of $15 billion a year over 10 years.

If I vote for him, I would be voting myself poor, since my tax rate would increase.
Some talented Freeper should do a cartoon showing 5 people (representing the rich 5%)on one side and 95 people on the other side with Nobama in the middle pointing to the “5” and yelling “go get them, they have the money!”
Isn't that what got us into this mess in the first place???
This is insanity, to keep doing the same thing over again expecting to achieve a different result.
THIS is the lie that is OBAMA!
Sarah can skin a moose. The only the Democraps have skinned are taxpayers.
I’m amazed that a household income of $250K is considered to make a family “rich” in this nation. Yes, it’s a comfortable income, but most who manage to bring in that kind of change work very hard. Still, it’s income. “Rich” to me means real wealth, as in net worth. If you don’t have to get out of bed and you have $250K/yr rolling in, that’s not bad. But if you have to work 80+ hr weeks, along with your spouse, to reach that level, you’re not really “rich.” I think it speaks to just who the Democrats are trying to attract to vote for them.
Then we have Obama ready to raise cap gains taxes. Right now, obviously, that will be less of a concern for many given how the securities markets are faring. But when people start to realize gains again then they will realize how much a Pres. Obama sucks.
