Here is video today of Sen. John McCain challenging Barack Obama to join him in calling for Congress to return to session to deal with the Energy Crisis. McCain calls for the Congress to include increased use of Nuclear Power and the opening of Offshore Drilling as a part of the plan. Barack Obama opposes both Nuclear Power and Offshore Drilling. . . . (see video)

A call to action DURING the election campaign instead of secret plans to be unveiled AFTER the election. If Senator McCain is not careful, he might actually win this thing. I'm sure Baraq Obama’s spinners and speech-writers are working OT to develop some magic soothing excuse for not getting involved in an actual decision. Maybe Obama has to go visit a military hospital somewhere, and can't get back to DC in time.

I just gotta chuckle.
One thing about McCain is that he does nothing without the other party’s participation. So now he asks Obama to join him.

Obama has no earthly idea what to do, or even how to respond to this. He’ll probably try to ignore this and instead attack McCain on the economy, but the fact is that the oil crisis is causing the weak economy, and it’s the no-drill policy that Obama has supported that is causing the weak economy.
If he continues to attack McCain on the economy, McCain needs to point that out... The reason the economy is weak is the high price of oil, and the reason the price of oil is high is that we have a no-drill policy that Obama is supporting.

It does make sense, doesn't it - after all, Obama's inflated ego works so well on various issues... So, inflated tires should definitely solve energy crisis.

I'm not excited about McCain either, but this is hardly "reaching across the aisle." It's a move to point out how Nancy and Harry are obstructing the will of the American people.
And it's a brilliant campaign move.

I’m not saying it is. I’m just laughing because he can’t even stab a guy in the back without asking him to turn around so that he can stab him in the back.

Go McCain! I was not an initial McCain supporter but I am starting to like some things about this guy, chiefly his guts. Put it to BHO John, and force the idiot to admit he is really against drilling!

Hey Senator McCain:
1. Start carrying a tire gauge in your shirt pocket. Pull it out at most speeches and call it a “joke” of an energy policy.
2. Ask which is more important, foreigners working in oil fields and refineries or Americans doing the work here in America?
3. Ask who will be friendlier to the Earth while drilling for and refining oil, Americans or some third world government that only wants to line their pockets with money?
4. Use a line like this: “Demoncrats say that drilling won’t help for ten years, I say let’s get the clock ticking now.”
To: TomGuy; Brilliant
Yep. McMaverick-reaching-across-the-aisle is still McMaverick-reaching-across-the-aisle. He isn't reaching across the aisle, he is challenging Obama to either support drilling or not, it is a extremely clever move. Don't believe it, TS, I am not a real McCain fan either but this is a very, very great move.

Brilliant!!! Is Fred doing some thinking for McQ? Seems like ...
Obamesiah did say it is an emergency as justification for tapping the Strategic Reserves. OK, if it is an emergency, it is an emergency. Get Congress dialed back in. Woo hoo.

He needs to carry a large poster sized picture of the VW with the sail on top that was touted as the Dems energy plan last Friday on the floor of the house.

Obama has no earthly idea what to do, or even how to respond to this. Well, he can always claim that McCain's call for Congress to return is racist.
