Google Goes Goo-Goo for Obama
Political Blog ^ | August 1, 2008 | Raquel Okyay

It’s bad enough that most media outlets are falling over silly for Obama, but now it seems Google has joined the fast moving train of Obama supporters.

Initially, I didn’t believe the reports that the Obama campaign was intentionally shutting down blogs because these blogs were questioning the validity of Obama’s birth certificate. That was until I received an email from Dr. Mitchell Langbert last night, a blogger and Professor at Brooklyn College, who advised that Google had placed a temporary hold on future posts at his website.

Nothing from Google surprises me. They have fantastic software and engineers, but unfortunately, they mix politics with their business. I wonder how they would feel, when their staff gets Unionized under new Democrat legislation?

Half the sites listed are suffering from duplicate content penalties and weak backlink profiles.

However, the other half don’t look like they should have been penalized at all.

Blogger’s systems are automated and the sites have all been reinstated, so I’m guessing that some Obama fan-site put links to them because the “flag blog” button is an easy way to shut someone down. Technically, the same could probably be accomplished (temporarily) if a group of people went around targetting pro-Obama sites.

If enough organized Obama supporters clicked that in a short enough amount of time, they would trigger a blog lockdown until manual review could be done.

Anyway, this is why I advise against using free hosting for primary sites. Shared hosting only costs $6-$8 a month and you have a contractual claim to your data and site access. With free hosting, you have to just take what they give you...

My $0.02? Google is a private company, and can do whatever they want to.

But, articles like this are an excellent sunlight to get rid of the cockroaches. Pretty hard to run a business when you go out of your way to pi$$ off 50% of your clientele.

This blackout on anti-Obama stuff is truly frightening.
Never has there been anything to equal it- unless maybe in communist countries.
What the h*ll is it they are trying to hide in his birth certificate?

“Nothing from Google surprises me”

You got that right. And lets not stop with Google.
Ebay has been displaying a link on its pages lately showing a stupid looking big eared George Bush with a caption, “Are you smarter than George Bush - click here and take the test”.. I have not clicked on it, so I don't know where the link leads - but you would think that Google, Ebay, Amazon, and all the rest, if they really believe in diversity, would understand that not all of their customers are liberals.
