Colorado Opens Women’s Room to Men, Predators

How can any logical person think this is a good idea?

Colorado Governor Bill Ritter, a Democrat, signed Senate Bill 200, which essentially let’s any man who says he’s really a woman, use the women’s facilities in public places. By facilities, I mean the restroom and locker room:

The bill initially outlines requirements for the Colorado Civil Rights Commission and also bans discrimination based on sexual orientation for things like housing, car insurance, funeral services and public accommodation.

The bill also extends bans on discrimination, where previously unwritten, for things like race, creed, color, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, marital status and national origin or ancestry.

So what? Is it that bad? Yeah, it’s that bad. In the mind of the Colorado left, separate bathrooms for men and women are as awful as separate bathrooms for blacks and whites:

Here they go again making changes to satisfy a tiny number of people. It seems as though our politicians represent everyone except patriotic and hard working Americans. If you're gay, on welfare, a member of a certain religion or an illegal, the government will bend itself into a pretzel trying to accommodate you.

Ok, while I agree that the decision is shear lunacy I am really bothered by the description of men as predators. This pays homage to the feminist mantra that every man is a sexual predator.

If the public schools are any measure, then sexual predation seems to be more a female trait than male. Combine that with homosexual predators praying on the young males (also) then women using the men’s room would appear to me to be more the issue, since that seems to be where the predators appear to roam.

Gives a whole new meaning to use the bathroom before you leave home, and avoid public bathrooms whenever possible. This could even force folks to stop associating or going out. I know there are ordinances like this where i live, and the restaurants are hurting, have been since it went into effect. Who wants to go out if you need to “hold it” till you get home?

I think what is meant by predator, in relation to this article, is that it will leave the door open to any predator, since he couldn't be questioned as to why he is going into the women's bathroom or locker room. Men who is not a predators, in other words, the norm, wouldn't be seeking to go in. No comment on those who think they are women.

Well, it would be kind of tough to keep men out of the men’s room, though I expect that that is the facility that would-be predators on boys would use. Men electing to use the women’s room, it seems to me, would more likely be the predator-on-females type—and it seems hard not to see this law as paving the way for that sort of trouble.

Men who is not a predators, in other words, the norm, wouldn't be seeking to go in.

If they're going to be that way about it, there shouldn't be anything to stop men who aren't predators from going in with a girlfriend/wife/daughter, and waiting discretely just inside the door, and out of sight of the ladies taking care of business. It might seem a little weird, but under the circumstances, maybe not so much.

OK Coloradoians. It's time to visit the State House. If you are a man, declare yourself a dyke and pee in the ladies room. Make sure the seat is down. If you are a woman, go use the men's room and make sure you take all the time you want. These are public toilets in the State House.

The idea is to deny the legislature and governor toilets and make them soil themselves.

I have seven granddaughters.Taking them to the mall unaccompanied has always been a trying time.I stand guard outside the door and hope they will all use the bathroom at once.
Standing guard has caused some grief as there are some who think I am a predator.Twice I have had security come and attempt to quiz me as to why I am standing outside of the ladies room.Until the girls start coming out.The last time,the security guard started laughing as the last one came out.
He said he was glad he was not in my shoes.
I would never let them use the ladies room in Colorado,which is somewhere I will never go.
Texas I highly doubt,would vote for something that stupid.In Texas,that could be dangerous.
But,politicians ,to me,are of a monkey see,monkey do type of breed<with a few exceptions of course.Stupid is as stupid does.

For whatever reason it is somehow ‘de rigueur’ for women to go to the restroom together, so I see no reason you shouldn’t start them early! But I hear you. In all but tough neighborhoods, women’s rooms have generally been about as safe a public place as there is. I’m saddened to see that change.

I have been wanting to ask fellow Freepers what the proper etiquette is when situations like i mentioned arose.I did not want to come across as an ask Ann Landers type.I notice some of the girls are fast and some not.
I have rules that are somewhat old fashioned.When getting out of the vehicle,no running off anywhere.The older ones have to hold the younger ones hands and so on forming a chain effect,etc.Many accidents happen in parking lots as it seems rules fly out the window.The fight for a parking spot is borderline parking space rage!
Fortunately,the youngest is seven and all know what to do.I do not have a clue as to what is in a womens rest room,but I do emphasize hand washing as a must.I have more or less felt it necessary to place trust in the older ladies and women to be helpful.
The thought that a man in a dress has access to the ladies room is very disturbing.In fact,it is insane.And sick.

They—and you—sound adorable. I hate it when a group of kids is dashing around in a parking lot, as I worry someone will more or less run into my car, however careful I might be.

I don’t have any kids, just lots of older sisters and, through them now, nieces and nephews. I’m trying to think now, when I took a pair of nephews out long enough to use a public restroom, I’m thinking they were probably old enough so I just sent them in as a pair. One was in a clutch with two sisters, but I don’t remember if I had a public restroom issue to deal with for him.

I suppose the ol’ make-sure-they-go-before-they-go rule wouldn’t hurt. But I would never suspect a gentleman waiting outside a ladies room—I’d just think he was waiting for someone particular to come out.

I have been through a lot in my life,but my kids age me fast.Somethings you never paid a mind to,now become big issues.It only takes a few seconds for something ugly to happen.I grow eye’s on the back of my head when I am with the girls.
As far as the ‘go before they go rule’,it is not all it is cracked up to be.Their wants and needs differ greatly!I have developed an understanding ,and they know I mean business,that if any of them becomes too demanding,[I.E.],rest stops,they stay home the next time.
I also as of late,bring an adult woman,I.E.,wife aunt etc.,too assist.But no matter what,I could not bring myself to allow the girls into a restroom with potential weirdo’s.And if they cross dress or whatever,it just ain’t right.Just because someone says it is OK does not mean it is.It is plain not right and disgusting.Who in their right minds would vote for something like that other than another deviant??

Not that I travel much anymore but Colorado is definitely on my places not to visit.

I'm not a woman who screams easily but if I were to see one of these perverts when I came out of the stall I would scream so much it would (hopefully) traumatize them so much that they would never enter a woman's restroom again!

Does anyone have the phone number or email of Colorado's Governor? I want to contact him telling him that I won't be visiting (aka spending money) in his state. Also, any companies that do business over the Internet?

We FReepers need to get a message to the politician's in Colorado that this kind of thing isn't accepted and the only way to get through to them is to hit them where it hurts - MONEY!
