Washington, D.C. (February 12, 2008) -- The Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) announced today the launch of its new national advertising campaign.
The series of ads entitled "I Used to be a Democrat" tell the true-life, political journeys of former Jewish Democrats. While the circumstances may vary, one common theme persists among them: Each is now a Jewish Republican.
In one ad, Glenn M. Taubman of Annandale, VA says: "I don't agree with the Republicans on every issue, but the Democratic Party just doesn't represent me anymore. In another, Stephen Rosenbach of Arnold, MD says: "I couldn't stay in the party dominated by the far left who won't stand up to the threat posed by Iran, Syria and growing radical Islamic extremism." The ads also encourage other former Jewish Democrats to share their political journeys with the RJC.
"The ads reflect the movement we've witnessed for years: More and more American Jews express serious misgivings with the direction of the Democratic Party. Again and again, they are finding that the Republican Party better represents their concerns ranging from national security to the well-being of the state of Israel," said RJC Executive Director Matt Brooks.
The ads will run in major Jewish newspapers across the country through late spring or early summer.
This is a terrific idea whose time was thirty years ago. American Jews should have abandoned the Democrat Party in droves once it became clear that the “gun control” Democrats want to disarm all Americans and leave them defenseless to the whim of some potential future tyrant who would herd them into boxcars.
Well, better late than never, I guess.

Speaking of disarming all Americans, it should be noted historically that the Nazi version of gun control expedited the Holocaust.
Also, worthy of note, is that Hitler was described as and considered to be charismatic as Osama Hussein Obama is today. Liberal Jews would be wise to take note.
It would have helped the Democrats had they not consorted openly with all kinds of racists and/or anti-Semites like Al Sharpton, MoveOn.org, Louis Farrakhan, and Jeremiah Wright. We might also add “Catholic-hating bigots” for MoveOn.org and Farrakhan.
I hope this group is effective. The current crop of Democrats is not friendly to Jewish Interests.

I’ve been seeing these ads in the JEWISH PRESS (the local Orthodox rag). As a former Democrat myself, I found that the “man on the street” basically verbalized what I had been feeling for a long, long time — that the Dems had left behind any kind of sanity.
Hmm . . . How about, “I used to be a democrat—but then I remembered what happened the last time a national socialist party seized control of a major Western nation.”
“Speaking of disarming all Americans, it should be noted historically that the Nazi version of gun control expedited the Holocaust.”
Even more creepy, the actual text of early drafts of the Brady Bill (and various other gun control efforts) were plagerized from the Nazi bill -— allegedly the American parties were unaware of the original source and merely copying “effective” language, so as to not re-invent the wheel.

You know, I have often thought the same thing. Leftist Jews probably did actually support Hitler.
The RJC has been around since 1985, promoting their message to Jewish voters, while at the same time representing the Jewish community within Republican ranks. Its paid membership is in the tens of thousands, and it has a national office in Washington plus over forty regional chapters around the country.
The current crop of Democrats gives the GOP an excellent opportunity to make historic inroads into the Jewish community this year. Look for McCain to get something like 40% of the Jewish vote come November - and that estimate may be conservative (no pun intended).
