It’s a big green week for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He’s on the cover of Newsweek magazine’s save the planet issue, is the keynote speaker of the magazine’s global environmental leadership conference in Washington, and addresses the Council on Foreign Relations in New York. And the British Conservative Party chose the week of his Newsweek cover status to announce that he will headline their annual party conference this fall.

And if you like Arnold as governor, you'll loove Rudy as president:

Former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, who is working California harder than any other 2008 presidential candidate, said yesterday that Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's governing style is one he would emulate as president.

“Your governor is a good example,” said Giuliani, during a San Diego campaign stop. “Kind of the way I was mayor of New York City, it's the way he's governor of California. He is above and beyond everything else a problem-solver and that's what I would be as a president.”

"I do believe there's global warming, yes'' said Giuliani, in response to reporters questions following his talk to the Churchill Club. "The big question has always been how much of it is happening because of natural climate changes and how much of it is happening because of human intervention.''

But, he added, "The overwhelming number of scientists now believe that there is significant human cause.'' He said the debate on the existence of global warming is "is almost unnecessary...because we should be dealing with pollution anyway.

Giuliani, who met with Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger for more than an hour this weekend on issues such as California's landmark legislation on climate change -- said he did not know all the details of the state bills. But "I generally agree with Gov. Schwarzenegger,'' he said. "He's a good friend and a progressive leader.''
