From the Maha - "I'll tell you, Obama, the Lord Messiah Barack Obama had one hell of a day yesterday. He flip-flopped on FISA, and the lefties are going ballistic on this. He was caught saying we need to all learn Spanish so he won't be embarrassed by us bitter clingers. He says he regrets putting his children out in front of the camera when they were shockingly charming. I mean, everybody that saw it thought the kids were cute. Germany yanked the welcome mat for his grand nonpresidential speech at the Berlin Wall and now he's getting his nuts...

'Slow motion' marathon runner Greg Billingham has finished the London Marathon one week after the event started. Thirty-nine-year-old Billingham decided to "run" the 42-kilometre event at an ultra-slow pace of 4.8 kilometres every 10 hours, to raise money for the charity Children with Leukaemia. He said he ran in slow motion because people who become ill often find their lives slowed down. Billingham, who had never run a marathon before, hopes to have raised between 30,000 and 40,000 pounds for the charity. "At first people look at you strangely... People weren't too sure whether it was a joke," he said....

A farewell to Dan Poker by Nathan Carleton March 03, 2005 Just one more week. Just one more week until Dan Rather “retires” from CBS News’s anchor chair and starts filing reports for 60 Minutes. Hesitant: President Chirac In his annual Bastille Day television interview, Mr Chirac said he would try to loosen some restrictions in the law...

I saw the greatest sight this morning. I ride along the West Side Highway every morning - from the 50s to Wall Street and work -- and along the piers, you can see the Iwo Jima and other Navy Vessels proudly arrayed near the USS Intrepid for Fleet Week. And this morning, 200+ marines were running at a fast clip along the pedestrian trail that runs from Fort Washington to the Battery. (I saw them around Houston Street.) I saluted as the stormed past, sounding off. It was a fantastic sight. I thought they would be a welcome permanent addition...

Jack Kelly: Clown commission Events of 9/11 deserve more than this inquiry Sunday, May 23, 2004 Paul Beston thinks that its hearings in New York May 18 and 19 were the time when the national disgrace known as the 9/11 commission "jumped the shark." This is a Hollywood expression for wretched excess, silliness beyond which a program is no longer viable. It is derived from the final days of the sitcom "Happy Days," in which the character Fonzie, wearing his trademark leather jacket, jumped over a shark on water skis. "While the 9/11 commission is about as substantive as a...

Secondary roads such as Routes 60, 99, and 1A north of the city are expected to be quickly overwhelmed, too, as motorists search for alternatives. "People should understand their evening commute will not be a smooth one and consider leaving their cars at...
