At Least Three Reasons I Could Never Be a Democrat

1. In 2003, with Ronald Reagan suffering from severe Alzheimer's disease, CBS pulled a particularly nasty docudrama about him – not in response to any threats from Republican politicians, but due to immense public pressure. Among the scenes in the version that was originally scheduled to air was one that showed Nancy Reagan begging her husband to help AIDS patients, only to be told, "They that live in sin shall die in sin." Elizabeth Egloff, the playwright who wrote the script, admitted that there was no evidence such a conversation took place. No Republican politician ever asked that the show be pulled. On Sunday and Monday nights we saw a docudrama about 9/11 that ABC, to its credit, ran with some changes even after being threatened by Democrats. “By contrast, Harry Reid, the Senate minority leader, joined other top Democrats in issuing a thinly veiled threat to ABC. They wrote Robert Iger, the chairman of ABC's parent company Disney, to urge him to cancel the program.

That makes me a little ashamed of being from this planet. However I don't want to claim to be from Pluto either because Dennis Kucinich is from there.

3 reasons I'm not a "Dim-o-crap":

1. A strong desire for my own personal survival and the survival of the society and infrastructure around me built on functional reality.

2. Freedom. Freedom, the most radical political idea in history. Ever.

3. My perception of reality, not naive fantasy and misguided dumb ass, phony idealism.

I'm sure that there are many other reasons.

I have only one reason I'm not a Democrat.

I love America and to be a Democrat you have to abandon that love.

Its a damned shame to be able to say such a thing and be able to so easily be able to argue your case.

1) The political betrayal of Vietnam, that lead to the waste of 58,000 American lives, and the wanton murder of millions in Southeast Asia, all the while singing "give peace a chance..." 2)... I guess I only need one.

When you're young and not a Democrat, you don't have a heart.

When you're older and not a Republican, you don't have a brain!

Yep, that's why I attack them at Vietnam. The Demoncrats greatest glory needs to be exposed for the shame and mass murder of innocents it really was.

My three...

1. I value the individual over The State. People are born to live as they wish, not as others wish them to live "for their own good". This is not a blank check of course; we live in a society, we exist in a civilization. But that civilization is a shifting thing, always has been and always will be. Some believe the shift should move in a direction favoring the primacy of The State, and the values enshrined. The problem with that is that for people to live together there is always, always compromise. The individual should be allowed to live by his or her own lights, which will be compromised when he must interact with others. To avoid the progressive compromising of the individual's choices in life, the individual should be prized above The State, which will attempt to solidify its already immense power. It's a constant battle, and the individual should always be favored.

The Democrats do not believe any of this. They believe humanity is perfectible only if the mass of men follow the plans of the elite few. While I do believe some people are smarter, more creative and just better than others, that doesn't mean MY standards should be imposed on others. Being allowed to live by my standards--not imposing them on others--is enough.

2. Democrats lie. They are completely dishonest of their true feelings about how this country should run. They lie about their feelings about this country. They lie about language (Political Correctness), diversity (Multiculturalism is about skin color; if someone has ideas that are different from liberal orthodoxy, they are Bad), and pretty much everything else, all in the name of gaining power, which would allow them to impose the restrictions on individual freedom I mentioned in point 1. They lie about the current conflict which threatens our nation, in part to build the need for a world government led by their true leaders, those nameless hacks in the UN; they lie about the Bush Administration and social spending (whatever I personally think of that); they lie about Christianity and Judaism, which are the basic moral guides for the majority of Americans (whatever I happen to think about religion); and they lie about figures such as Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter. They lie, and they believe they have the right to lie because they are good people, in their view, and thus anything they do to fight their opponents is a good thing.

3. The average Democrat I have met--I have lived in the Boston area most of my life--is driven by emotion, resentment, and skewed "facts", and the continual erosion of honest intelligence. In other words, they are ignorant, exercising their hatred for religion, masculinity, true individuality and achievement. If they have achieved nothing in their lives, they blame others; if they achieve great wealth, they exercise their guilt over betraying their socialist core by spreading lies that discourage OTHERS to similarly achieve.

In short, I could never be a Democrat because they are fighting a war against everything I hold dear (freedom, truth, intelligence, individuality, achievement, economic independence)or those things others hold dear (religion, their own ideas about what's important). They are the ultimate result of this country's century-long turn to the Far Left, and I will never, ever surrender to them.

I just couldn't be a Democrat because even in my most negative mood, I could not be that hopeless and bitter.

"That makes me a little ashamed of being from this planet. However I don't want to claim to be from Pluto either because Dennis Kucinich is from there."

It's ok. Pluto has just been re-defined as a sub-planet. Kucinich is sub-human so you don't need to feel ashamed of being from this planet.
