On Wednesday night, the bloggers of Vital Perspective attended an A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition meeting on immigration and witnessed first hand the intermarriage of radical socialism and militant Islam, packaged for the politically correct 21st century. The meeting, dubbed "Beating Back Bush and the System" attracted an odd mix of about twenty people of varying ages and backgrounds, brought together by a desire for revolution and a mutual understanding that facts and history were merely minor hurdles in their struggle.

I want to thank Velveeta for bringing this VERY important matter to my attention. The connection between A.N.S.W.E.R. and the protests is BIG new, it IS a BIG deal!

NOTE who the speakers were!

The speakers were Juan Jose Gutierrez (below left), formerly of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and currently the Director of Latino Movement USA, who organized the Los Angeles immigration protest on March 25, and Brian Becker (below right), National Coordinator of the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition.

Make sure you enlarges the picture to see the meeting in plain sight!

A test vote is scheduled for today on an effort by Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid of Nevada to end debate on the bipartisan measure. Late Wednesday, Reid said he was reviewing a new GOP proposal, but it appeared to be similar to what he and other Democrats had earlier rejected.

WASHINGTON - Senate Republicans and Democrats closed in on a last-minute compromise Thursday on legislation opening the way to legal status and eventual citizenship for many of the 11 million immigrants living in the United States illegally.

There are an estimated 360-thousand undocumented immigrants living in New Jersey.

Protesters in Costa Mesa, California, hold an US flag in the distress position as they gather to decry pending federal legislation on illegal immigration. Thousands of demonstrators rallied in this conservative California town and in New York protest plans for a US legislative crackdown on illegal immigrants.

A day after more than 5,000 people, mostly Latinos, rallied at the state Capitol to protest proposed state immigration policies, about 200 people gathered on the same Capitol steps to support legislation to stop illegal immigrants from receiving public assistance and require public employees to report suspected undocumented workers.

Lou Dobbs Tonight
Thursday, April 6, 2006

Republican and Democratic Senators this morning took turns in front of television cameras congratulating themselves and their esteemed colleagues for reaching a compromise on illegal immigration reform. We’ll bring you the latest news on the Hagel/Martinez Amendment and what it means for solving this country’s illegal alien crisis.

The test for effective reform is straightforward: Congress and the president cannot reform immigration if the federal
government cannot control it, and the federal government cannot control immigration unless it first secures our borders and our ports. Tonight we’ll tell you what the Senate compromise legislation includes in terms of border enforcement.

The deal, which would include a temporary worker program backed by President Bush, would allow illegal aliens who have been in the United States more than five years a chance to become citizens if they meet a series of requirements and paid a fine.

Other rules would apply to people less than five years. But,how will the United States really know who has been here for less or more than five years since they’ve entered illegally?

And Lou will be joined tonight by three high-profile
Congressmen to discuss today’s compromise on so-called
immigration reform: Senator Byron Dorgan of North Dakota, who opposes a guest-worker program, Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama, and Congressman Luis Gutierrez of Illinois, who has organized pro-amnesty marches.
