The news of the last week has encompassed, one way or another, the need for liberal reformers in the Middle East and people saying stupid things that get them in media trouble. We have seen a leading reformer be assassinated in the same week the Top Dog at CNN stepped down because he let his true colors show. When the themes of these two general news items collide, the obvious conclusion is to give that region Howard Dean. Former Premier of Lebanon, Rafik Hariri was killed in a car bomb attack on his entourage convoy in Beirut on Monday....

Understanding the true futility of the body of the U.N., President Bush publicly called on Syria to withdraw those troops earlier today....

Eason Jordan, CNN Chief News Executive, resigned this week after his off-the-cuff comments... ‘How am I going to get out of this one…’”....

This story has created something else, another scalp to mount on the mantle of the new media’s accomplishments....
