Read all posts BEFORE making stupid comments. Read my post #21. I'm not saying this to just you, I can't believe how many times I've had to explain something to someone who could have found out the information they wanted very easily just by taking the time to read some of the posts.
I can kind of understand when there are upwards of 100 posts to wade through but jeesh there are less than 50 here.
This link is pretty darn smarmy to suggest that ther is no reason to be offended when it slanders people.
This was not an ugly hoax it was satire from a Christian organization.
This is a hoax.
I'll remember that next time, lol. I was so fooled by this article, I should have done more leg work on the original article than just trying to figure out who the group was that said it, my bad.
I have heard some Christians express these same views and in a way I guess it played into my own prejudices against that type of belief, and before anyone else pounds me ( not you Ksnavely) I am not talking about FOTF or Dr. James Dobson- I have the utmost respect for him and his group.
Plus we can use them to test the first space environments to see if they are working properly. Tapping illegal aliens will give us an unlimited supply of "testers"
Is this a joke?
Yes, and unfortunately for me I BOUGHT IT, hook line and sinker.
Thanks, please accept my humble apology i have been dutifully stuned.
Your bias was exposed.
C. S. Lewis.
The Inklings pointed out the solutions to this question nearly 100 years ago and they were not the first to address it, merely the most learned and cogent.
Not a problem. Really.
We may not have thought of this before, but to imagine that God hasn't..... ?
The kindest word is hubris.
Yes, but I am not biased against FOTF or Dr. James Dobson, only against those whom are of the opinion that we cannot or will not ever get off this rock and have civilization out there amongst the Universe because of some dictate from God.
I am a Christian, my father is a pastor, and I have nothing against other Christians, God or the Bible, only those Christians whom use it as a crutch to not think and resort to platitudes on why we should not pursue science at all or that science is evil in and of itself, this in no way encompasses the majority of Christens, only those whom see all science at opposition to their faith.
Science can be used in the same way by those whom oppose Christianity and think those that practice it as blind and ignorant, but again I do not think that is true for the majority of scientists.
Well..It isn't in my faith to limit God...
Exactly, and thank you.
Indeed, modern works on Cosmology still occasionally refer to the Universe (all that Is) as "the World".

well thats kinda dumb. As a Christian I think we should go as far as possible. Thats the motto I want in a PRIVATE space program: "Go Farther"
I won't argue the point since I truly believe that each
person evaluates/sees his religious tenets to the limit
of his ability. Who is to say which of us is the more advanced spiritually or intellectually?
Genesis 37
Joseph's Dreams
1 Jacob lived in the land where his father had stayed, the land of Canaan.
2 This is the account of Jacob.
Joseph, a young man of seventeen, was tending the flocks with his brothers, the sons of Bilhah and the sons of Zilpah, his father's wives, and he brought their father a bad report about them.
3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other sons, because he had been born to him in his old age; and he made a richly ornamented [1] robe for him. 4 When his brothers saw that their father loved him more than any of them, they hated him and could not speak a kind word to him.
5 Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him all the more. 6 He said to them, "Listen to this dream I had: 7 We were binding sheaves of grain out in the field when suddenly my sheaf rose and stood upright, while your sheaves gathered around mine and bowed down to it."
8 His brothers said to him, "Do you intend to reign over us? Will you actually rule us?" And they hated him all the more because of his dream and what he had said.
9 Then he had another dream, and he told it to his brothers. "Listen," he said, "I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me."
10 When he told his father as well as his brothers, his father rebuked him and said, "What is this dream you had? Will your mother and I and your brothers actually come and bow down to the ground before you?" 11 His brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept the matter in mind.
Nothing else needs to be said. It's not like God stops being God once you get a few million miles away from Earth.
