See RE:#16
Perpetual chaos is part of the Libertarian agenda and the libertarian agenda.
The LP agenda is clear, to get unlimited immigration, we must have open borders.

Call out the TV cameras is more like it. Santa Cruz passed out medical marijuana at City Hall last week, and the DEA was nowhere to be seen. They like to do their dirty work away from the national spotlight. Its just no fun rousting polio victims when its going to be televised.

We're not talking about getting stoned here. We're talking about humanely relieving the pain of certain sufferers, so as to afford them some quality of life. That's what the DEA is trying to stop.
Libertarians are against the initiation of force in any circumstances. I doubt you'd see many of them killing for cannabis. To fight tyranny and unconstitutional abuse of power, maybe.
Before anyone starts the inevitable flame as to my motives, I am a Libertarian and have never touched a drug in my life.

One correction. Libertarians who die for the cause don't get 72 virgins. It's 72 prostitutes. Free enterprise and all that.

The DEA is chock full of Jack Booted Thugs.

"It's 72 prostitutes. Free enterprise and all that."Awww, shucks ... now, they're going to make me turn in my Libertarian Party tie-tack and cuff-links for forgetting that.
To: Commie Basher
As a soon to be former Libertarian, let me say that this is twice foolish.

They also oppose welfare and anti-discrimination laws Unlike Repulicans, who strongly embrace quotas, affirmative action, and forced "diversity."
Just ask Ward Connerly. He was shunned by Jeb Bush when Connerly tried to promote an anti-affirmative action initiative in Florida. Connerly is so disgusted with the GOP that he recently spoke at a California Libertarian Party event. He's thinking of switching to the LP, becaues the GOP shuns him.
The GOP supports war, socialism, and racist affirmative action.
The Dems support war, socialism, and racist affirmative action.
Yeah, I know the GOP gives good phone sex, talking about liberty and the Constitution. But the GOP behaves like Dem Lite.

Santa Cruz and other localities are making "medipot" available during public rallies at City Hall as protesters chant, "DEA, go away!" The Netipot, good for what ails you, and it's 100% legal.

If you favor anti-discrimination laws, then there is no way you can oppose the free entry of individuals into the US so long as they pay their own freight. Your objection is not really to immigration; it is to the social cost of immigration. This social cost is imposed by welfare, which immigrants take enthusiastic advantage of, and anti-discrimination laws, which removes the economic and social penalties for refusing to adopt the native culture's values.

DEA agents are THUGS in their world... They're not thugs? Rent TRAFFIC, a film that comes highly recommended by Libertarians.
To: SteamshipTime
WRONG! An anarchist is anyone who opposes authority, established order and ruling power. An anarchist supports and promotes chaos, as a reasonable alternative to civilized society. Libertarians are mini anarchists, who uphold the principles of absolute and unrestricted liberty. In other words, behavior that is without limitations. Just more of the chaotic philosophy that is at the core of libertarian thinking.

Government is not the source of civilized society. Indeed, the increasing social breakdown which you see all around you correlates exactly with the increase in government.
To: Darth Reagan; dighton; Orual; aculeus
Yep, that's all we need. A military clash between a state and the federal government. The next civil war starts over marijuana. Lexington, MA - 1775. Fort Sumter, SC - 1861. Wo/Men's Alliance for Medical Marijuana, Santa Cruz, CA - 2002.
One of these doesn't fit very well...
To: Reagan Man
Just more of the chaotic philosophy that is at the core of libertarian thinking. On the contrary, the core libertarian philosophy is no offensive use of force or fraud, or stated differently, the Golden Rule. It is a moral absolute.
Modern conservative and liberal philosophy is relativist at its core, as it purports to justify the offensive use of force or fraud against individuals to benefit a collective, and therefore allegedly "greater," good.

FINALLY! CALL OUT THE GUARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Protect us from the terrorist actions of the Federal Government!
The War On Drugs is an unconstitutional and truly evil war
tragically raged against CITIZENS of this great country!
Who are the terrorists?
GOD MADE HERB
GOD SAW THAT IT WAS GOOD
GOD GAVE IT TO MAN
Genesis 1:11
Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth"; and it was so.
Genesis 1:12
And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:29
And God said, "See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ..."
To: SteamshipTime
>>>On the contrary, the core libertarian philosophy is no offensive use of force or fraud, or stated differently, the Golden Rule. It is a moral absolute.WRONG again! The golden rule and the libertarian philosphy are at opposite ends of the spectrum. As for moral absolutism, I think you forget, libertarian beliefs aren't holy scripture. Life isn't always based on blacks and whites, because man is an imperfect creature and liberals and libertarians, are the most imperfect of all.
To: Commie Basher
And HOLLYWOOD is to be my scource of truth and enlightment about our government? You are joking, right?
To: Phantom Lord
And the LP is chock full of tin-foil wearing Chicken Little Looney-tunes.
