“The detectorist claims he alerted authorities to the possible haul after ground-testing suggested the Dents Run site was filled with gold.”
I see the problem...
If F-Troop was being honest, there was no reason the treasure hunters could not watch their dig.
Parada was on site at the time of the dig.
No, they disallowed everyone but them.
This is what happens if you trust the government, I would not trust them in an empty basement.
Something like that.
The FBI NEEDED that Gold. They can’t pay off their operatives like Ray Epps, John Sullivan, ANTIFA, Patriot Front, etc. out of their budget; that might be audited.
“The detectorist claims he alerted authorities to the possible haul”
Now, why would you go and do a thing like that for?
Would the FIB lie? 🤔
This story about the FBI has been around awhile. It disappears for while and then it comes back again like it is a new story.
He is lucky they let him live.
Shoulda kept his mouth shut.
That sounds about right. 😆
“He is lucky they let him live.”
^this^
“The detectorist claims he alerted authorities to the possible haul after ground-testing suggested the Dents Run site was filled with gold.”
Idiot. This proves it..
“Yep. The Mafia would make a more trust worthy and patrotic law enforcement agency.“
You are EXACTLY onto it!
Our politicians have twisted our government to operate JUST like the mafia. THAT is what they’ve learned while supposedly “cleaning up the mob” for decades. They became envious of them and have now used the law, or the perversion of it, to form a more perfect form of the mob.
Only, the old school mob had SOME honor here and there…
It does not say that. It says The detectorist claims he alerted authorities . What authorities? Why did those authorities contact the FBI? Are there pictures of the dug up area?

Dumbass. It is a cardinal rule of treasure hunting/finding that you STFU when you find something of potential or real value.
This is as bad as the guy in CA whose dog dug up millions in old gold coins a few years back. First the Feds wanted them, claiming that they were stolen by a Mint employee, then the heirs of the former owner sued, then they had to pay gargantuan taxes on what was left after their legal fees - and, as a bonus, every family member, thief and kidnapper in the area know that the guy and his family are rich.
No, STFU!!!
Sorry, but NTSA.
He forgot the rules of metal detecting.
1. Sweep
2. Shovel
3. Collect
4. Shovel (fill in your hole)
5. Shut up.
Most folks trust authority—until they get burned.
Learning is best done the hard way.
