I see one small difference between Nixon and Hillary. Nixon was sitting there...with income as a lawyer, columnist and book-writer coming in. Other than some ghost-written books by other writers, she has no other career or projection of herself.
She is NOT a columnist or capable of writing a weekly piece. She hasn’t practiced law in forty years. Her 12 years of State Department chief and US Senator? Can you even name three accomplishments in that twelve-year period? I hate to suggest this....but she is a 88-lb boxer trying to box in the super-heavy-weight class, and can only box if enough journalists swing for her.
OTOH, he WAS the most maligned presidential race loser and winner ( when he beat Helen Gahagan Douglas, in the Senate race ) ever, and is still being impugned, maligned, and having patently ridiculous calumny heaped upon him still.
Still and all, what has been and is being to President Trump, is even worse.
This author assumes that the accusations against the PIAPS were all unfounded.
While his knowledge of historical elections is insightful his inability to acknowledge the criminality and scandals of the Clintons discredits his conclusion as does his statement that her “gender” played a role. The people that didn’t vote for Clintdog would have voted for Sarah Palin.

I, too, was young (kindergarten) when Nixon was defeated so no direct memory exists for me beyond the reading of history books and various articles. This Politico article holds some interesting points of history yet they still can’t help themselves in being Politico. It gets even worse when you read the delusional space they call “Comments”...wowzers!!! Those who inhabit the blue spaces on the mostly-red geographic electoral map have really gone on a Kool-Aid bender for Hillary!

Nixon didn’t sell American classified technology by shifting such sales from DOD to State department. Nor did Nixon sell the Lincoln Bedroom. And never did he shake down the world in pay to play access scams.

I remember it like yesterday. Hillary’s healthcare bill failed miserably. That night, porcelain items were being hurled about the President’s residence. Within the next few weeks, Hillary’s husband, the President, obtained FBI files on all those in Congress(both houses), who sabotaged her healthcare bill. A few years later, she became a US Senator and used that information to become more powerful than any Senator should ever become. Aside from her Bimbo battles, the FBI files on Congressmen, puts her in a class all by herself. She turned the honorary position of First Lady into a weapon, and has used that power along with First Lady kid-glove treatment from everyone for the last 19 years. Last November’s election was the first real slap in the face she’s been humiliated with in that entire time. She even turned losing to Obama into profitable crime machine for herself.
Not one mention of the “deplorables and irredeemables”... out of touch liberal professor.
