Possessing Ammunition
BRANDON EDWARDS 32, was sentenced today to 180 months of imprisonment, followed by five years of supervised release, for unlawful possession of ammunition (by a person, previously convicted of something)
EDWARDS possessed 18 rounds of nine millimeter ammunition, all of which had been manufactured out of state.
It is a violation of federal law (felony) for a person previously convicted of a felony to possess a firearm or ammunition that has moved in interstate or foreign commerce.
EDWARDS' criminal history includes a federal conviction for possession of a firearm by (a)felon, for which he received a five-year prison term in May 2003. He subsequently violated the conditions of his federal supervised release and, in September 2008, was sentenced to an additional prison term of 12 months and one day.
EDWARDS has been detained in federal custody since November 19, 2010. He pleaded guilty to the offense on December 2, 2011.

Pretty crazy.
Now, if he had shot someone with that ammunition, he would have gotten only 6 months probation.
Shoulda got life with no parole.
Meanwhile, Jon Corzine stole $1.6 billion dollars from customers of MF Global and still walks free.
He’s a convicted felon. Too bad for him.
I guess he could have manufactured his own ammunition, but they probably would have figured-out some charge for that too.
What? The primers came from out of state, the lead was recycled via India, the copper came from Sudbury, the tin from Rhodesia (or whatever they’re calling it this week)......
Felons lose their rights. And they should.
Have you seen what they’re calling felonies these days?
Should have used one of those bullets.
This was a bad, bad, guy.
I very much disagree, especially when it is this right [arms] that is in question. Nobody should be deprived of the capability of self-defense, and it is particularly stupid to allow something that could [conceivably] be administrative in nature to do so; governments can, and will, make policies to invalidate the rights of people they do not agree with -- that in itself should be cause to be extremely hesitant about the deprivation of any right.
(Also consider legal rights, your sentiment would deny any felon the chance for legal defense in any accusation against him [the 6th Amendment].)
