According to actor and comedian Drew Carey, Hollywood is not the intolerant blackballing liberal utopia many deem it to be. In fact, Hollywood is very accepting of the right-wing crowd - except for that fringe, radical segment known as conservatives.
"In Hollywood, you can pretty much get away with being a libertarian," Carey told John Stossel on the Fox Business Network. "But if you're a conservative you're kind of doomed."
Carey was a featured guest on "Stossel" March 18, dissecting the economic calamities surrounding his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio (anointed Forbes' new “Most Miserable City” ), and to provide the perspective of an aspiring businessman.
"Now you're a libertarian right?" Stossel asked. "Has that slowed your career?"

I think Drew may be confusing libertarians for libertines.
Any way, I doubt most Price is Right fans know the difference or care.
That was a good show. I thought Drew brought some good stuff to the table.
Cleveland is a great case study in government fouling their nest and remaining oblivious to it all.
What is said, making a joke, was that “libertarians are really just republicans that still get high”. Not too far off, really. :-)

Several years ago I went to my 30 yr high school reunion near Cleveland. All of the gals who I once thought were the potential starlets of my class back in the 60’s now.... all with troweled makeup, looked, dressed, and acted like the character “Mimi” from the Drew Carey show. Visualize the 300 lb cheerleader.... When they do a split, they stick to the floor. Cleveland ROCKS!

However too many here are all too eager to stick their noses so far into other folks’ business I’m surprised someone hasn’t cut them off yet. I know I surely would.

I can see why a conservative would not be popular in movie land, as it has a reputation of fostering Queers and whores, and since it started guiet a few years back i can imagine where it is now.
