I saw one up close 7 months ago after it rear ended my Truck on the freeway as I was stopped in traffic. My Tommy Gate killed it.

Little secret ….

You can buy a used Lexus for less than its Toyota counterpart and the Lexus has usually been well taken care of, or flat out pampered.

I own a 2006, model 400H SUV hybrid the same as 4 of my friends who bought this model intentionally.

Very comfortable, indestructible, I drive the heck out of mine and get 20 to 25 mpg.

Yes, I had a ‘89 Supra and it blew a head gasket.

Toyotas are the best built, highest quality cars on the market When Toyota paired with BMW to build it’s new Supra, BMW really had to up their standards to meet the Toyota quality requirements

Yes. I owned a Toyota and that POS cost me a small fortune in repairs. Never again.

I figure if I add about 5k in extras, I’ll have a truck which will outlast me.

That thing’s cheaper than a UTV. I’d love to have one of those with the 4x4 and Diesel option. Of course by the time you add all the safety stuff our government overlords require on new cars and pickups. ABS, Electronic Stability Control, Air Bags, backup cameras, not to mention the “Emission controls”, it would be a $50K truck.

Well, yes. A German colleague who was working over here in around 2005 wanted to buy a used car for his son. I looked at a Toyota “something” sedan with him. Gave it the thumbs-up, and about a month later something went haywire with the engine management computer, and the dealer took a month to fix it. Boy, was I embarrassed!

Bought a new RAV4 in 2004 and the engine blew up just a few miles before the warranty expired. The Toyota dealership couldn’t believe it when I called them up. Anyway, they replaced the engine and we continued to drive it with zero problems for a long time. It was eventually given to one of our adult children... still going strong at about 250,000. It didn’t put me off Toyotas since I had several before that with great success and I’ve had other ones since then also with great success... I’ve always put it off to a complete fluke.

Out Sienna had 316,000 miles on it when we donated it to the church. The volunteers there will repair it and give it to someone without a vehicle. Hopefully it will last them many more thousands of miles.

New Toyotas now have life time warranty on the drive train for the original owner. Once you sell it the warranty is over,

ve been driving Toyota's for 25 years now. Most dependable cars around. I get 250K miles easily out of each vehicle and I rarely have to do more that oil changes, brakes and tires.

Hell, I don't even do THAT!

Early ‘70s we bought an old white Toyota Corona. Obviously, it had been abused. The guys at work laughed because when I drove “straight” down the road the car was at an angle, sideways.

Then the gas shortage hit and we decided to sell. Put an ad in the paper, and when we woke up the next morning there was a line around the corner of interested buyers. The first guy bought it, for $3K more than we paid for it. Never saw it around town. It was a good car, but ugly.

Now we have a RAV4 and like it a lot. We used to be strictly Hondas, but the quality seems to have slipped. (I’d sure love to have another Mazda Miata. I’m sure that’s what Nancy Drew drove. 😉)

“When Toyota paired with BMW to build it’s new Supra, BMW really had to up their standards to meet the Toyota quality requirements”

Do not doubt that, considering the wretched reliability of overpriced BMWs.
