Halloween is almost here! What a better time to bring up ghosts and the supernatural?
Many people and cultures believe in ghosts and entities. forty-six percent of Americans believe in ghosts, according to a 2019 study by Ipsos.
The study also delved into other forms of the supernatural, “A third believe that aliens visit earth (32%), while only a small amount believe in vampires (7%) and zombies (6%).”
There are many places in North Texas here is a list of some places in the DFW area:

i lived in a house in CT built in 1773. Had a small grave yard out back of many of the residents buried there. Weird, spooky house. Was a murder there in the 1930’s and the body was stashed in the cellar for a week. Never saw a ‘ghost’ but weird things definitely happened in that house.
Made me think of another thing while I lived in CT in the early 90’s.
I was in a small rural grave yard in Western CT and looking at the grave of a soldier killed in WW1 in 1918.
Suddenly, behind me I hear “I saw him get killed”. and I turn around there were two old men standing there, one was super old. Long story story, it was a father and a son... The father was 102 in 1994 (I was 16). He was a soldier in WW1 and said the soldier in the grave I was staring at was killed in artillery strike and he said he could still see him in his mind’s eye laying there dead and mangled. I went back to that same graveyard in 2011 and snapped a pic of the soldier’s grave.
I talked to him for about an hour, super cool experience. He was told me he remembered the murder in the house I lived in I reference in my previous post. (The property owner killed the farm foreman in the kitchen during an argument)
I heard on Coast to Coast am that people get mad at the house seller who neglected to tell them the house was haunted.
One caller said most documentation for the house sale include disclosure of ghosts before signing. Is that true?
Does anybody know about this?
I heard earlier there is at least one website for Who Died Here which lists any place where someone died. NOT if it is haunted. “Psychological impact” statement.
Apparently state by state rules vary:

So check with your state first to see if you need to say if your house is haunted or not. In case you’re wondering... Texas is NOT one of those states. However, other states will require you disclose that there is a “psychological impact” on the house.

only California requires realtors to mention any recent death on a property, while states like South Dakota and Alaska require realtors to mention any violent deaths on the property. Most states don’t require realtors to mention previous property deaths at all—but they aren’t allowed to lie or cover up the home’s history if you ask about it.[2]
“Has anyone died on the property recently?” or “Are there any deaths associated with the property?” are good questions to ask.

Found the death one (not about ghosts):
“In Most states, a death in a home, no matter how it occurred, is not considered a “Material Fact” and it’s not required to be disclosed. A murder could have occurred days ago and the seller does not have to let you know.
A death in a home, especially a violent death, can decrease the home’s value by 25% and increase its time to sell by up to 50% longer than comparable homes.”
I see ghosts all the time. They are the speaking images of Movie stars long since dead. I also hear them in music as well. When I hear Micheal Jackson singing ‘ I’m Bad ‘ I’m thinking He’s dead , He’s dead , you know it.
I have an ex from almost 40 years ago who haunts me to this day.
I always remember something my dad told me sixty eight years ago when we visited friends who lived near a grave yard.
“The dead can’t hurt you. It is the living you have to watch out for.”
At the age of 77 I have found that to be true.

One night about 1am, wife and I were sleeping, and we were woken up by a God awful crash and then our dogs barking. I figured “What did the dogs do now?”. Got up to investigate. Did you ever have one of those BIG kitchen drawers that has the mixer or other small appliances in it. ?We did. It was sitting in the middle of the dining room! This was two weeks after my Dad passed away. Figured he was letting us know he was around.
Do I believe in Spirits? I am a Christian, so it is kind of required. Do I believe that the spirits of the dead hang around after death? Maybe, for a bit. Plenty of people have had messages from their dead loved ones who they did not even know were dead. So perhaps on your way out you are allowed to tidy up a few bits.
Do I believe that spirits of the dead haunt people or places? No.
Now having said that I do believe it is possible that impressions of events and people hang around. They have done studies and have determined that if quarrelsome or bitterly unhappy people live in a space there is a "feeling" that hangs around even after the people are no longer there. Think of the impression you leave in a cushion after sitting there. The longer you sit, the more of an impression you leave.
So you might have a place where a traumatic event occurred and all that emotion seeps into the physical items and people might see or feel some bits of that past event.

I’ve lived for 14 years in a farmhouse built in 1900. The closest neighbor’s house is about 500 yards away. For many years, can’t recall just how many, I have gone to bed for the night, and while laying quietly in the dark listened to the voices of spirits conversing in that room. Their voice volume is just a tiny bit below my ability to understand what they’re saying, but it’s both spooky and fascinating to listen to them. Then only a week ago I was doing some paperwork in my living room when I noticed singing in the background. It was muffled yet clear enough that I could identify the song being sung and started to sing it myself.
Just to clarify that I’m not some wacko dude on drugs, I’m 80+ years old and I have a post-graduate degree. On the other hand as a kid I did go Trick or Treating every Halloween!
Stigmatized Property Disclosure Law. Ohio (not sure about other states) law requires disclosure of a suicide, natural causes in some circumstances, murder, illegal drug activity, or reputation of the house being “haunted”. All of these could possibly impact market value.
I had a listing that was owned by a widow whose husband committed suicide. It was a high end property. They were in massive debt, he finished his morning run, went to the back yard and shot himself. Before I could list the property I needed a ruling from the board of realtors if I had to disclose as stigmatized. I did not have to disclose because he did it outside of the house. The poor lady was able to sell it without devaluing the property.
I don’t think Arizona requires realtors to mention any ghosts on a property but I did find this out when looking to buy a house here in Phoenix.
As I said I was looking to buy a house in Phoenix and originally I had this idea I wanted something with a large amount of property. I lived in a home with an acre when growing up and don’t like it when neighbors are on either side of you. It feels cramped to me.
So I asked a realtor to show me properties with an acre of land and I visited 3. It was the third one I liked the best, it was in the heart of town and was kind of a pretty house with a huge front lawn, most of the property in fact.
They took me for a look inside the house and when we went to check out the bedrooms the master bedroom was down a long and twisty kind of a hall at the end. As we walked down this hall I swear it seemed very narrow, like the walls were closing in on me and when we got to the bedroom I stood halfway in it thinking ‘gee, it feels like I’m trapped back here’ and had the distinct uncomfortable feeling the previous owner had been murdered in that room.
As we wer driving away the realtor and her partner were asking, ‘well, did you like this house’? Meanwhile I was already thinking of my husband balking at mowing that 2/3 acre of lawn. I knew he would not be happy about that but I also thought of the uncomfortable feeling in that back bedroom and I asked them, ‘is it true you have to tell people if a house has a ghost in it or not’? They looked a little surprised by my question and then one turned to me to say, ‘no, we actually don’t have a law like that here but we do have to tell you if there was a violent death. The owner of this property had three men break in and attempt to rob him. He ran and they chased him down the hall to his bedroom and they shot him in the head in there. Murdered him’.
Well, my husband is happy not to have to mow THAT lawn.

If she hasn’t passed, I would look her up! NO telling what could come of it! In fact, I just attempted communication with the mother of my first known child. Thus far she hasn’t responded, but she married shortly after we parted and she’s still married to the same man.

One of the authors on that Coast To Coast said the people who bought the house complained of specific things and when they innocently told the neighbors and townspeople they all said “Oh, yes. Exactly. That’s what the haunting has been like for everyone who moved in there.”
Makes you stop and think.
That happened to my brother and I, twice, when we rented a basement apartment. Heard a terrible crash in the kitchen — like someone dropping a tray of silverware — and when we went to investigate not a single thing was out of place.
Ghosts (spirits) are Biblical.
Demonic spirits yes. Ghost of dead people, no.
It’s demonic activity with them posing as dead relatives or people.
