British woman who lives in the US sparks UPROAR after revealing traditional bacon sandwich recipe she made for her husband - leaving Americans horrified

A British woman surprised her American husband by making a bacon sandwich the traditional 'English' way - and says he was bowled over by the tasty treat. But her recipe for the perfect snack has left many others in the US in uproar.

Caroline Parker, who now lives in Boston, Massachusetts, recently took to TikTok to divulge the secrets to the popular dish.

The mom-of-two revealed the ingredients that go into the perfect creation and also revealed that the key was not toasting the bread.

But other social media users were left stunned by the process and did not hold back in the comments.

In the clip, which has so far been viewed more than 2.1 million times, Caroline can be seen standing in her kitchen as she speaks directly to camera.

Holding a frozen loaf of bread and pack of bacon, she begins: 'I am going to make my American husband an English bacon sandwich because I went to the Irish shop... don't ask me how much I spent.'

She defrosts the bread as she explains: 'There's a big difference between American and English bread - if you know, you know.'

Caroline continues: 'Compared to American bacon, you have to put a little bit of oil in the pan because it just has less fat.

'Obviously with streaky bacon, you don't need oil. I made that mistake when I first moved here.

'I prefer my bacon like this but that is definitely just because I'm used to it. This is what we eat back home. I don't know if my husband likes it like this but he's going to have it.'

She lets the bacon cook away in a frying pan before turning her attention to making the perfect bready base.

The recipe reminds me of the Bacon Butty sandwiches in the UK. Exact same ingredients.

"Nothing better than a BLT with fresh lettuce, tomatoes and Swiss cheese on Italian bread with mayo. Pickles on the side."

Sounds delicious. If I don't have lettuce and tomato, I just put bacon between two slices of bread with mayo on them.

Sounds like You would like Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf.

And You can change/put whatever items inside the mix, no need to follow the exact ingredients, but be sure to use the eggs and crackers or breadcrumbs for the binder so it makes nice slices. I make it in a bread pan and it is lined with partially cooked thick sliced bacon and then completely wrapped in the bacon, top/bottom/sides and ends. I like to put it in the freezer for a while to make it stay wrapped and in shape and then bake it on a wire cookie/cake cooling pan. And I cook it till the bacon is crispy. If you have trouble with the bacon pulling away from the loaf then it can be wrapped in Foil and baked until the bacon is "set" then remove the foil to finish crisping it up.

Looks like a great fit for a Backpack to Me.

Heaven is where the police are British...

Pride parades and arresting people for Facebook posts. Maybe not.

Agree.

My daughter has traveled in Europe and England. She told me that the food in England is terribly expensive and horrible food.

Worst food in the region.

Good old Southern and Southwest US cooking is very hard to beat.

Breakfast baked beans is a new England specialty. Blood sausage seems to be dying out though

I guess the ketchup is replacing tomato and butter replacing lettuce in BLT?

I don't see anything wrong with this woman's sandwich. Sounds like her husband snagged a good wife. I've eaten pork belly all my life, nothing wrong with it. My mother would serve it on thick slices of white bread with mayonnaise.

Real fish and chips are cooked in beef drippings (beef fat).

Correct. Lightly mayo both sides of the bread. Used no butter. Used AGED Red Leicestershire Cheese. Must aged at least nine months. Never use cheddar cheese. Mayo on the outer suurfaces of the bread toasts up beautifully. Mayo is mostly egg and oil. The aged red Leicestershire cheese
Is more piquant and tasteful.

Ah yes, beef tallow is the ticket! (i.e. McDonald's original fries before the switch to "seed oil").

Rather than fry American, try cooking it in th oven.
much less mess

Can cook more strips at a time.

Fast, easy, yummy.

BLT is absolutely the best sandwich ever to be created.
Toasted or not. No peanut butter needed, A simple lunch,
breakfast. With cream of tomato soup... ummm good.
