I’m wondering if it’s a dipthong? I think I’ve seen that coupling in an old Henry VIII portrait of some kind.

https://thesocialselect.com/what-does-ae-mean-after-a-date/

“What does AE mean for dates?
It is an abbreviation of the Latin Aetatis for “at age”.

I guess he was 44?

Thank you.

Today’s autocorrect took my “Thank you” above and tried to write it “Yankees you” but I wouldn’t let it.

English today is trying to go paleo on us all.

Let’s not forget the wallet sized portrait he sat for to give to his girl.

Women were never allowed on stage during that Era. Likely a royal edict and not a Shakespeare rule.

“Not marble nor the gilded monuments
Of princes shall outlive this powerful rhyme,
But you shall shine more bright in these contents
Than unswept stone besmeared with sluttish time.”

Doesn’t register on the gaydar that I can see.

Well, there is mention of “slut”, but hey, how bout them Cowboys? Should take out the Giants no problem.

If you’re an “innie” or an “outie”, that’s definitive. Nothing else is.

F=S

But I don’t know what the grammar rules were as to when you used it.

“shakeFpeare?”

That “F” is actually a “medial S”, the second form of the lowercase S:

Joseph Sobran sure thought that Edward DeVere was the real author of Shakespeare’s work.

Sobran was one the best writers for National Review in its prime.

Thanks so much for pointing out Sobran's book. I am well familiar with Joe Sobran, and followed him for years. Sobran's reputation adds a lot of credabiliy that Edward Devere was the true author. I will see if I can locate a copy. I'd love to read it.

That doumentary I refrenced is on Freevee streaming. It is well worth a listen.

From the evidence I’ve seen it’s pure elitist arrogance. “Commoners” (and the term should offend every true American) even those that drop out of school, sometimes go on to be wildly successful authors. Did Charles Dickens not write any of his works because he dropped out of school at age 12? How about Mark Twain who also dropped out of school at age 12? Those are just a couple examples of writers, there are many. Extending the concept beyond writers, there are plenty of self made wealthy people that never had any formal education at all or dropped out at a young age. Formal education, while important, is hardly a reliable indicator of those that will do exceptional things.

There is a fundamental difference between being educated and having participated in formal education.
