What's Freepers opinion on blaming Trump for the midterm elections?

Posted on 11/10/2022 2:57:06 PM PST by Words Matter

With Conservatives point finger at Trump after GOP’s underwhelming election results: 'He's never been weaker'
Many conservatives say Tuesday's election results show it's 'time to move on' from Trump. (Fox News'', November 9, 2022), as well as the Wall Street Journal - what do Freepers think?

A long time ago I thought it would have been a good idea for a Republican candidate to compare America to Europe and seeing the comparison and where the two parties were headed, the Republicans could convince Americans to give them their votes.

Romney finally got around to trying that tactic, but it backfired because he was perceived (correctly) as the soulless vulture capitalist that he is.

Now I agree with you that an increasing percentage of Americans would probably prefer a Europeanized America, so that tactic would backfire today.

And the soap opera turns. How about asking him or DeSantis what he did today to challenge the regime in DC? Does anyone know what either’s position on the Uke quagmire is? How much money did they raise? Any quality candidates for ‘24 recruited. Oh heck no, who cares about issues that win elections. Two years from today we’ll be scratching our heads wondering, how’d they do it again? Quick, here comes the mechanical rabbit!

“There is no fixing the widespread stupidity of the low information voters.”

Best comment yet!

It can be fixed but it is messy.
How do you get rid of 25% of your population?
Make them use “renewable energy” and have them eat bugs, seems to be the direction the Oligarchs are going.

I say we get rid of McConnel, McCarthy and all the Rino’s before we toss out Trump.

Just saying.

If it wasn’t for Trump, the RINOs would have taken back control of the Republican Party and would have been glad to play second fiddle to the Democrats. Trump encourages the new wave of conservatives to continue fighting for what is right for America. Where would we be without “The Donald?”

Yes, sometimes Trump drives me nuts, but give him credit for continuing the Tea Party movement.

I wouldn’t say it’s his fault, but he could have done more to support the people he endorsed. He had over 100 million, and only spent about 15 million of it.

He is also really hurting himself with the crap he is saying. Especially, attacking Desantis.

>>They are still scared shirtless that he will run.

I think they are hoping he runs; they need to run against him to win - and they will if he does.

His brand is now toxic - and I say this as someone that voted happily for him twice.

In 2015 and 16 we wonder if Trump was going just be another uniparty hack or something else.. well He proved to be the uniparty and the GOP establishment nightmare

This election is one thing the establishment GOP sitting on its hands they want Trump out

If there had been a red tsunami would Fox and WSJ write articles defining Trump as the man and the reason for victory?

It’s silly to even fathom the thought, isn’t it?

“If Donald Trump had ridden off into the sunset after the 2020 election and the Supreme Court had not completely overturned their abortion precedent, there would have been a red wave.”

If Donald Trump had not put conservative judges on the U.S. Supreme Court like we elected him to do, the court would not have embraced the U.S. Constitution and rekindled that thing about life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Blame it on Trump for not appointing another David Souter.

I think that in at least one way Trump was on every ballot.

The MSM has successfully convinced a sizeable chunk of Americans that Trump is Hitler. I believe that some voters believed that by voting for the Dems they were keeping Hitler from office.

That's how evil the MSM is, and how stupid the average voter is.
