Ah...My son and I used to go to Kocumel and Playa del Carmen every Christmas and rent scooters and do our own tour of the ruinas in the Yucatan.
That was when you could still climb all over the ruins at Tulum. You could get a room for the night at the Club Med at Coba for $6.00 a night.
