@barnes_law

The Oz endorsement woke up some Trump supporters to what some of us have been warning about for awhile. Trump is totally, utterly out of touch on these kind of issues, surrounded by inept, corrupt advisors. Personnel was his weakness in office, and the problem is getting worse.

Trump sucks...I’d never vote for him again.
.........................................
Good thinking. We need more Trump haters with that attitude to ensure the election of Kamala!

Obviously you don’t live in PA. Oz is a carpetbagger TV personally that Hannity and Trunp are endorsing. You better check out Oz’s record and a true MAGA would never vote for him.

I think that with his name recognition and the Trump endorsement, Oz might just win Pennsylvania. It has been reported that Republican registration is up in that state and Trump might just put him over the line.

On the other hand, I pray Trump doesn't endorse Greitens in MO. Oz could be a winner but Greitens has made a mess out of his life. Great potential and early performance. Crummy choices later on.

At the start of the 2016 primary campaign season I opposed Trump because he fit the exact same description that you posted there.

The events that unfolded in 2016 and afterward make me very hesitant to write off someone like Oz so quickly.

Go to Alabama and ask Mo Brooks. He went from front runner to abject mediocrity even WITH Trump’s endorsement.

Sometimes an awful candidate really is just a loser.

I am not disagreeing with the facts but they will be twisted. Also with the media when do facts matter!

The God's Truth is Trump trusted the “experts” like anyone would at least initially. He's not a medical man let alone a virologist. He assumed he was dealing with professionals. He wasn't! Fauci who serially exaggerated about AIDS and accomnplshed little should have been shuffled off to the side on or forcibly retired on Day 1. He clearly had no one to reserach who he was dealing with. A cursory research on Fauci would have revealed his past grandstanding. As we know Trump had little real or effective support even in his own WH.

I am saying I see no preparation or strategy yet for Trump to head off whats coming. Maybe its early! Also maybe he really doesn't intend to run.

So this McCormick is a schmuck so basically the lesser of two evils is Dr Oz..I know there is this black Conservative candidate also running(Never heard of her til today) but honestly lets be practical here, she has no chance..its between McCormick and Oz so Id go with Oz..funny but isn’t Laura Ingraham siding with McCormick while Hannity sides with Oz

Interesting perspective. I live in PA but I am not politically active like you are.

Another conservative Freeper posted an interesting comment here yesterday offering some mild support of Oz based on one important point he made. He said every GOP candidate for senate or governor who comes out of the PA state government is fatally flawed. That pretty much covers the whole range of top candidates in those two races.

He kept them on because when he fired Comey or talked about firing anybody else, talks about investigations and subcommittees began. They (the Dems and swamp GOP) did a good job having him running scared on personnel.

Trump’s inability to select good talent is why I’m hesitant to support him in ‘24.

This website — and probably even this very thread — is littered with Freepers who thought James Mattis would be the best Defense Secretary of all time, who thought John Bolton should have been Secretary of State, and who probably still think Chris Christie should have been Trump’s first pick for AG.

When even intelligent, informed Freepers can be so wrong about duplicitous @ssholes like those three, I have a hard time criticizing Trump for ANY of his personnel decisions.

I'm going to agree with you. Taking the lessor of two evils always ends up with evil.

Thanks. We should back kathy barnett over these idiots win or lose.

“He will need DeSantis as VP.”

I doubt DeSantis is interested in playing 2nd fiddle.

___

The only purpose a VP serves is to deliver a statewide win. They serve no policy purpose. Making DeSantis VP would sideline from policy perhaps our brightest youngish effective leader.

Quit blaming Melania. Trump has to own his choices and he is too easily impressed by people he really doesn’t know.

They dealt dirty with him and made his life more difficult. He needs to dance with the ones who were always there for him and pick solid people. DC is full of villians and scum. Pick elsewhere.

I guess it is impossible to know who is the best because when you become POTUS, relationships with people rise to a new level. It would be hard to trust anyone.

Personnel was his weakness in office

That much, at least, is true. And as Morton Blackwell reminded us, "Personnel is policy."

I don’t know why Trump endorses anyone...

But I will take his word over any one else’s, at this point in time
