Actor Alec Baldwin has posted a video on Instagram days before Christmas where he appears to wallow in self-pity over the 'really tough time' he has been having in recent weeks after accidentally shooting dead a cinematographer on the set of Rust.
Baldwin, 63, uploaded a video on himself speaking directly into the camera two months after the tragic shooting on his Western movie set in New Mexico, when the actor accidentally shot and killed Halyna Hutchins, 42.
In a three-minute long rambling video, Baldwin appears despondent and weary as he tells followers how the only thing he is living for right now is his wife and children.
The video, which was posted on Thursday afternoon, shows Baldwin looking drained and tired, hair unkempt and his face unshaven as he unloads in a stream of consciousness rant where he says he is looking to the future.
First, though, he took time to thank the 'support' he had received from family, friends and fans.
'I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all of the people who sent me such kind words and best wishes and strength and hope and prayers and so forth and thoughts and lots of encouragement and lots of really really great sentiments from so many people,' Baldwin began while standing outside.
"I got hundreds and hundreds of emails from friends, family and colleagues and people I haven't heard from in quite a while to send me strength and good wishes and so forth. I'm really grateful to them. Many people commenting on Instagram seem very very supportive about this difficult situation.'

Lack of remorse doesn’t play well in a courtroom..
Big difference between the privileged treatment he got and that of Kimberly Potter. Neither death was intentional. One was caused by insufficient training and incompetence at her job. The other by arrogance and not bothering with the rules.
She is mortified. He doesn’t care. She will go to prison. He will go free. She is a cop. He is a radical leftist actor. She killed a non-White, he killed a mere White. Bingo! There’s the real reason for the disparity!
After 30-to-life we can welcome him back into society.

Seeing Kim Potter getting potentially 15 years for a high stress situation that led to a mistake, well then what about Alec? I’m betting he gets nothing but sympathy, and we all know why.

I think he believes that by talking he’s creating a new reality. If he talks enough, it will be the only reality. Before the age of seven, children believe the world works by magic. If they say something or if they believe something, then, it becomes real. I’ve noticed something similar to this over the years as I deal with liberals. If they say/believe something, then, it is real. You can quote facts, show them articles, etc. and they act like they didn’t hear what you said. It’s a peculiar form of self-focused reality. If you do start to punch through, they get loud and/or violent. Therefore, most people just let them have their way.
I really hope they have a camera on him when the jury reads the verdict.

He is an actor. There is nothing authentic about him and every single emotion he tries to fake us with is a lie.
I hope he loses everything in life like he gave to the grieving father and devastated son when he shot and killed Halyna.
He is used to bullying everyone and is trying a soft approach where he thinks he can slowly massage the masses into thinking he wasn’t even on the set when it happened.
I haven’t seen such a lack of remorse since seeing the interview with the BTK killer.
First of all, I agree that Alex Baldwin should get some sort of punishment, as did Kim Potter.
Why is there a difference in how the two are treated.
Baldwin somehow gets a loaded gun, swears he did not pull the trigger, yet manages to shoot and kill someone. I am sure he did not mean to kill the woman but the gun shot did the job.
As for Kim Potter, I found out recently that the jury requested both the regular gun and the stun gun.
They found Potter guilty and I ponder....I am no expert, least of all on stun guns, but the assertion is that it was very unlikely that Potter could have confused a stun gun for a regular gun.
And it makes sense. Stun guns weigh far less than regular guns. The jury, I assumes, felt that Potter shrugged over pulling out her regular gun instead of the stun gun and shot the guy running from the crime anyway. By the way, stun guns and regular guns are worn on different sides of the body, so I read.
I figure Baldwin pulled that trigger and killed that woman. I figure Potter pulled the trigger and killed the escaping criminal.
The difference in the way these people are treated is astounding. Baldwin should pay some price.
