Partial human remains were reportedly located in a Florida nature park where authorities have searched for Brian Laundrie, and a medical examiner has responded to the area, in the search for the fugitive wanted in the Gabby Petito case.
The discovery of remains comes after some items belonging to Laundrie were found in the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park.
Law enforcement sources told NBC News that the remains were found in a section of the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park that had previously been underwater due to heavy rains.
A cadaver dog also has been deployed to the scene, CNN reported. A tent was set up in the area, according to chopper video posted by a reporter for News Nation Now.
Laundrie’s belongings were discovered Wednesday at the heavily wooded park, where his parents arrived in the morning, the family’s lawyer, Steven Bertolino, told The Post.

“I bet there’s human remains in every Florida nature park.”
LOL, I was thinking the same thing!
“found human remains and personal items belonging to Brian.”
Line makes it sound like they found remains of BL which they have not properly ID’ed and will not for some time.
Found human remains, period
Personal items belonging to BL,period
works best for me
Did Dad kill him and then dump him???
How lucky they just stumbled on his “items”
Agree with both statements
They'll have prelim results in 24 hours.
“OMG, you mean a dead dog can still hunt??”
Hunt? The thing can VOTE!
Maybe all three of them decided suicide was his best option?
Partially human remains of ManBearPig?
I love it when retired homicide detective Ted Williams (a Louisiana native) on Fox pronounces “first” as “foist”. Such a cool accent.
that’s possible.
i think CNN has already said they can’t find him due to climate change
^ this
Maybe it can be over now.
If it wasn’t climate change, he may have been mauled by a feral COVID virus.
Gabby Petito was killed in late August, and Brian Laundire returned to Florida shortly after. But Ms. Petito was not reported missing until September 11th. In the interim, it looks like the Laundries might have been trying to develop a strategy to either help Brian escape, or might have even considered turnig himself in- no one really knows what happened during those two weeks. But once Gabby was reported missing, it became a national story, and the pressure was really intensified on the Laundries. It was just two days after the story became a nationwide sensation that Brian fled into the swamp, and likely killed himself shortly after. The Laundries did not even report their son missing until Sept 17, four days after he was gone. Perhaps they thought there was a chance he might have been able to escape. When Gabby's body was found on Sept 19, the coverage on the story was intense.
It might have been that Brian felt that he was on the verge of getting caught right after the Petito's went public, and that's when he killed himself.
One of the strangest aspects of this case is that the key events (Gabby's death, and Brian's likely suicide) actually happened several weeks before they were discovered.
You hate to see it.
seriously though, if this is him, what a little coward....couldn't face public justice....
If it is him maybe a Gator or Bob Cat got him when he was snoozing and he didnt kill himself. Guess you’ll need to wait and see what the real sleuths have to say
