The fact that the Tea Party isn't holding rallies anymore does not mean that it’s vanished from American politics.
Shortly after Barack Obama took office in 2009, CNBC editor Rick Santelli’s called for a “tea party” protest against the new administration’s destructive economic policies. People listened. And on Tax Day, April 15, 2009, rallies in cities across the nation launched the grassroots conservative political movement known as the Tea Party.
Recently, a HuffPost article claimed Joe Biden is doing many of the same things as Obama but, because Biden is an old white guy, there is no opposition like there was in 2009, thus confirming a major motivation of the Tea Party: Racism.
But there are a dozen years separating the launching of the Obama and Biden administrations. That’s a long time in the world of politics. Things have changed, but the principles of the Tea Party have not gone away. Indeed, the agonies of the current Republican establishment over their party’s identity have their roots in the Tax Day rallies of 2009. It can be argued that, directly and indirectly, the Tea Party’s efforts culminated in Donald Trump’s 2016 election.
Even though some tried to hijack it and leftists claimed it was Astroturf or receiving massive right-wing or libertarian funding, the Tea Party was a true grassroots movement. Given the classic life cycles of organizations, the Tea Party was destined either to dissolve from a lack of momentum or formally organize and probably calcify.
SNIP
Tea Partiers set aside their Gadsden flags and NRA bumper stickers to become became active in local Republican committees, campaign for candidates, and run for office. Some Tea Partiers said their goal was to take over the Republican Party. Why not? No one was using it anyway.

Time for some new rallies!
I be the impression a lot o people are waiting for something to start. They are not going to start anything, but would step up when it starts.
I could be wrong
“their goal was to take over the Republican Party. Why not? No one was using it anyway.”
Great line that I’m going to steal.
these people did not go away. they were instrumental to a trump victory in 2016 and 2020 and in 2022 and 2024

The ‘Tea Party’ just showed its strength when Cheney was booted out of the House leadership.
So, not need for the Tea Party as Trump now OWNS the Republican Party, and the ones who still don’t like him also understand that they’re just caretakers...and that the party has to now answer to Trump.
LOL. It’s Dead Jim.
Last week, 2,000 protesters gathered when the Orange County Board of Supervisors met to protest a plan to institute vaccine passports. And later that day, several dozen gathered ta the Los Alamitos school district to protest a plan to institute Critical Race Theory into the K-12 curriculum.
Gras-roots groups such as Orange County We the People and Yorba Linda Freedom are organizing these rallies.
The National Debt has grown from $11.9 trillion in 2009 to $28 trillion now, from a Debt / GDP ratio of 82% in 2009 to an historic high of 128% right now. The debt per citizen is just under $85,000 now. When Joe arrived on the scene in DC back in 1973 the US had paid down the debt to where the Debt / GDP ratio was at its lowest point since pre-WWII at 31%, the forecast for 2025 is for a $50 trillion Debt with a Debt / GDP ratio of 191% per the National Debt Clock website.
Yes more Tea Party rallies, the People need to step up.
I agree with you about the waiting for something to start. Historically, (real) Americans have always waited for a Patrick Henry or a Lincoln or Reagan to get them started.
We don’t want to be the one in the history book that starts the party, but we sure do like to join in. Kind of like a mob, but we try very hard to be on the correct side of the mob.
Take care of your family, stay in shape physically, spiritually, and mentally.
I’m not trying to be belligerent, because I’m sure that you and I are on the same side of the vast majority of issues.
But given all that’s happening in the nation right now, the National Debt is a non-issue. To the overwhelming majority of US citizens, it ranks right up there with social security reform in importance. Which is to say it’s unimportant.
Now if large amounts of sustained inflation occur, then the people will take notice. But debt statistics?
There’s lots to be angry about, but electorate is not going to be persuaded by fiscal conservatism in 2022.
If the AZ audit proves election fraud, TeaMAGA will turn out in droves to compel the other fake ballot states to follow suit. It won’t overturn the 2020 election, but it will destroy the election rigging machinery in a lot of states, and 2022/2024 will be ours for the taking.
I suspect that more rallies will happen this summer and fall. Right now, unlike 2009, there is inherant danger for holding rallies including government repression due to COVID and threats of attacks from Antifa and BLM. An idea is to hold large Tea Party rallies on 9/12/2021, the day after the 20th anniversary of 9/11 and the 12th anniversary of the 912 project.
The Tea Party in my area was infiltrated and taken over by leftists. It broke up as quickly as it came together.
“I be the impression a lot o people are waiting for something to start. They are not going to start anything, but would step up when it starts.”
After the catastrophe of the fraudulent election of 2020 and the subsequent acceptance of a criminal, illegitimate junta in DC, there will never be another legitimate election ever again in the now-defunct USA, rendering voting as an utter waste of time and effort. So, the only thing I’m waiting for is the start of Civil War 2.0. You can find me at the front lines when people finally get serious and begin to fight back against the atrocities we suffer under from a tyrannical regime.
Maybe because the rinos took over the Tea Party leadership.
Oh, and one more thing...GOPee Delenda Est!
