No, they should have never been let near the building, kept away forcibly, if needed. As I’ve said, when you break into the US Capitol and, once in, are trying to smash down doors, you’re a fool if you think things will end well for you. The girl made the tragic, fatal mistake of believing there are no consequences for the things choose to do.
If she would have just stayed on the sidewalk as an observer she probably would have made it home by now. Her lack of personal situational awareness was her downfall. It was a foolish move and it was her personal choice to enter the building like that.
