Leinenkugel's is giving away Oktoberfest beer to people who listen to 60 seconds of polka music

Leinenkugel's wants to give you free beer. All you have to do is listen to polka music.

The brewery is giving away a six-pack of Leinie's Oktoberfest, but participants must "enjoy 60 seconds of traditional polka music to unlock the beer claim."

Clearly, this is a Wisconsin company.

The registration page says to "enjoy some traditional German music for 60 seconds and we'll give you a code to redeem a six-pack of Leinenkugel's Oktoberfest on us. Danke!"

There's a clock that counts 60 seconds before you unlock a number to text "prost" and redeem the beer.

But wait — there's more.

Leinenkugel also would like to sell you the correct clothing for the occasion. They call it a Leiniehosen. Unlike the fabled lederhosen it's named for, this is a hooded sweatshirt/sweat-pant combo with thermal pockets to keep beer cold and pretzels warm. The Leiniehosen costs $75.

Enter to get free Oktoberfest or to buy Leiniehosen at leinie.com/leiniehosen.

Their fine print if you make it through the 60 seconds and live in one of the states where the offer is valid includes that you have to buy the beer, then submit a rebate form.

The main catch appears to be that the rebates are “limited” and only available in a “limited supply”.

There is only ONE..ONE area in WI that has the old Bavarian type cheer.

And the one time of the year it is celebrated. The Sheboygan County fair.

Of course..all the firemans/community picnics are some fun also, around the communities in E Central WI.

Not quite as good as their “original Leininkugels” (classic American Pilsner, since 1867), but still better than most (my born-in-northwestern-Wisconsin opinion).

“Not available in: CA, CO, IA, IL, MD, ME, MI, NH, NJ, OH, SD, VA, WA”

Well, that sucks! Maybe those states would get right with the Lord if they had a beer every once in a while! ;)

My Uncle Jimmy passed away in February. We were finally able to have his memorial this past weekend. Thanks Governor for keeping us locked down! *SPIT*

He’s my Uncle, but only 8 years older than me. When he was in college, I remember him and his friends driving out to CO to buy cases of Coors to haul back to ‘Sconny.

Everybody wants what they can’t have - and will pay good money for it!

I’ll never understand the ‘laws’ surrounding the shipment of beer across state lines. Someone, somewhere is making money off of it, or it wouldn’t be happening. (Most likely Mother Government, ruining our FUN as always!)

Last time I was in Alabama, I had my first taste of Moonshine. OMG! Turpentine, LOL! The ‘master craftsman’ wanted to send home a Mason jar of it with me, but I politely declined. ;)

You’re kidding! There’s a ‘catch’ to a Free Offer? Well, I NEVER!

*HARUMPF* ;)

I just wanted to strike up a conversation about beer. And Polka Music. :)

Here’s an Ear Worm for everyone to enjoy:

‘The Lonely Goatherd’ (’The Sound of Music.’)

This is how old I am: I saw this in 1964 in a THEATER with my Grandma. Not a year has gone by that I haven’t watched it again, and we pretty much wore out the record album - if anyone remembers those!

It’s amazing that Weird Al Yankovic, accordion virtuoso with many polka videos, is not related to Frankie Yankovic the Polka King.
