The Manhattan fashion executive killed by a great white shark in Maine retired from her successful career four years ago and hoped to spend her days staying active and spending time with her family, a longtime colleague told the Daily News.
"She had a great career. She had it all," Julie Dimperio Holowach's longtime boss and colleague Karen Murray told The News.
The 63-year-old Manhattanite was vacationing in Maine and swimming in the Casco Bay off Bailey Island Monday afternoon when the shark mauled her in front of her daughter.

It will be fun, she said.
That bites
This is like the actress who drowned in the boating accident. If these celebrities took the quarantine as seriously as little people are supposed to, some of them might not be dead now.
Tragic. What has been seen cannot be unseen. I will pray for her daughter.
Did the shark’s meal quarantine the mandatory 14 days? Quarantine, not just a good idea, it saves lives.
Has ME’s gov conscripted sharks for ‘rona patrol?
Guess that’s one way to enforce the quarantine.
“The 63-year-old Manhattanite...”
Was she a democrat? “Having it all” is never good enough for some personality types.
Signage on the beaches: Quarantine violators will be eaten!
Well, she had it all except a titanium wet suit. I mean, she was a clothing designer, why didn’t she have one?
And apparently quite tasty too...
“I mean, she was a clothing designer, why didnt she have one?”
Probably had a seal colored wet suit replete with seal-like flippers. To be more at one with nature don’t you know. Now she is shark dung.
I had the opportunity to stand in the freshly removed jaws from a huge Great White Shark down in Point Judith, RI some years back.
The jaws were populated with huge white teeth that looked just like that one you posted, unnaturally bone white, with streaks of the shark’s own blood from having the jaws removed. The removed jaws were resting on the sidewalk near the water, the shark carcass had been just tossed back in the water and was being towed away.
I was able to stand in the mouth with about a foot all around me, and the front of the jaws with all those teeth came up to about my knees. It was enormous.
They had also cut off the pectoral fins, and there was a wizened Asian guy with a two foot long blade with a rounded tip sawing away at one of them. The fin itself was longer than my adult arm. That knife wasn’t cutting it, and he would stop, try and sharpen it on the curb, then tried again. He was sawing like mad, but it didn’t look like it was doing much.
But that mouth and teeth...
They do make wet suits with a titanium layer - keeps you warmer. I have one - 1mm rash guard. It would sometimes be too hot in summer.

She’s fortunate if she had it all. Four years isn’t much of a retirement.
Who can say when the end of this life will come?
Sounds like the shark is the one who “had it all”.
Love Pt J
Too bad she wasn’t a lawyer, she would have been safe......Professional Courtesy.
