750 DEAD IN NY ALREADY TODAY. What is Coumo doing? (vanity)

Posted on 04/07/2020 9:07:55 AM PDT by GulfMan

Governer Coumo should be arrested for banning HCQ and allowing so many to needlessly die, I submit that he does not have the authority to ban a legal drug. This is an outrage, where is the media? Doesn't anyone care about these people? There is a treatment that works for most people, maybe nearly all if used early. I am so disappointed in our country. Since when does American sit around and let this happen?

"I’M TALKING ABOUT TODAY, 750 DEAD ALREADY TODAY!!"

Not to worry, they'll still be voting Democrat in November.

No sarcasm either.

Did you miss Cuomo’s statement about pro life people not being welcome in NY? It’s been a few years, you can be forgiven for havnig forgotten it.

They did say this would be a hellish week.
For some reason the stock market thinks it’s a good sign.
I don’t get it.

There are Americans...
... and then there are democrats.

That’s just the way it is. They made it that way, not us.

NYers have no right to complain when they are unwilling to hold Cuomo accountable.

Running?

Perhaps he was ceremonially turning over a spade of dirt for the slit trenches in NYC parks that are going to be used to “temporarily” bury all the bodies? /Harvard-educated city councilor

The Chines lie to reduce the numbers. Gov’t in US lies to inflate them.

Looks like maybe we broke out the champagne a little early again.

Unfortunately, 1, 2 and even 3 day "trends" don't seem to be very reliable. Whether a spike or a drop, people shouldn't read too much into these single day numbers. We all desperately want to see this end, and tend to jump on any indication that things are getting better. The number of patients hospitalized is still increasing, and the virus will take its share from among them. I hope this is the worst, and it gets better from here. How de Blasio is still Mayor of NYC is beyond me.

HCQ is still banned in NY for those not confirmed for the virus AND hospitalized.

Pharmacies in NY WILL NOT fill prescriptions unless for lupus or other previously approved applications.

There are almost 120,000 active cases in NY. About 4,000 are being treated with HCQ.

Right, it isn’t banned, they are just prioritizing it for those in highest need. If there is enough to expand distribution to confirmed cases, but not hospitalized, they should do it.

In his daily briefing Pres. Trump said yesterday the virus will reach it’s peak in NY this week or the middle of next week and that people will be shocked by the number of deaths by that time. I guess he was right. Seattle, where I live, the virus reportedly has already reached it’s peak.

Cuomo DID ban the use on March 23 - In a March 23 executive order, Mr. Cuomo barred pharmacists from filling prescriptions for chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine, its next-generation derivative, except for FDA-approved uses, such as for treating malaria or lupus, or as part of clinical trials for COVID-19.

You have to be in the hospital to get the drugs and in their “trial”. Many people are being sent home from hospitals after testing positive and told to just quarantine. NO medication, Cuomo’s orders.

While there is considerable hope with the HCQ regimen, and considerable early success reported, there is still reason to be cautious about broad proactive prescription, and studies should still be done as able to determine the actual best dosage and best timing and criteria.

Combinations of certain diseases with certain drugs - even drugs with a long history of safety with other diseases - can still lead to long-term side effects. Not that that matters so much in regards those cases that appear to be going terminal.

Here’s an example:
https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/reyes-syndrome/symptoms-causes/syc-20377255

“Reye’s (Reye) syndrome is a rare but serious condition that causes swelling in the liver and brain. Reye’s syndrome most often affects children and teenagers recovering from a viral infection, most commonly the flu or chickenpox.

“Signs and symptoms such as confusion, seizures and loss of consciousness require emergency treatment. Early diagnosis and treatment of Reye’s syndrome can save a child’s life.

“Aspirin has been linked with Reye’s syndrome, so use caution when giving aspirin to children or teenagers for fever or pain. Though aspirin is approved for use in children older than age 3, children and teenagers recovering from chickenpox or flu-like symptoms should never take aspirin.”

“There’s one caveat to the aspirin rule, however. Children and teenagers who have certain chronic diseases, such as Kawasaki disease, may need long-term treatment with drugs that contain aspirin.

“If your child needs aspirin therapy, make sure his or her vaccines are current — including two doses of the varicella (chickenpox) vaccine and a yearly flu vaccine. Avoiding these two viral illnesses can help prevent Reye’s syndrome.”

Reyes syndrome can cause permanent retardation as an after-effect.

They’re probably just counting all deaths as CCP virus.

Even if they were doing so, for NYC that’d only be about 150 deaths/day.

There were only 347 dead yesterday, if I recall correctly. The number had been falling for three days. It was well over 1,000 last Thursday.

For NYC, Monday was up over Saturday, with Sunday being almost double those days. For whatever reason (probably administrative), NYC counts have been way down the past two Mondays, followed by a spike on Tuesday. Cuomo was talking about the drop on Sunday, but it isn’t reflected in the numbers.
