You want to know a very elegant way to predict the # total deaths? Take the shape of the # new deaths today. Make a “best fit” curve to “bell” back to the baseline. The area under the curve is # total deaths.

You are right about that, though it will do little good that I tell you. Epidemiology is not a new science. Case distribution is governed by Farr’s Law and once again as it has for 180 years it is holding with the data. The current version is the IDEA equation, Infection Distribution with Exponential Adjustment. Let me know if you are interested but it is enough that you know there is science backing you up.
Now if there are two different germs out there both causing COVID-19...

One thing you can mention to the FluBros when they pull numbers is the worldwide mortality count. The FluBros always mention how many died in the US from this season out of 30-50 million cases.
The Wuhanic Plague has killed over 42K with only 858K cases. HUGE difference. (This includes China’s BS numbers, so we know that the truth is worse.)
