Not surprised...Government approved pieces of crap!!!
Big chuckle here.
Electric Cars no better now than in the 1880s
Stupid needs to really hurt.
” believed his new car had a range of 175km”
I guess he believed the Salesman rather than reading the specs.
He got an early model of a rapidly improving technology. Yes, major parts for a small run of old tech is costly.
But he had seven years smug superiority and who can put a price on that.
“Electric Cars no better now than in the 1880s”
Huh?
In the foxes guarding the chicken house department:
“” I complained so much Nissan told them to do a battery test and they claimed it’s totally fine,’ he said.””
Get woke,go broke.
And he wants to buy a Tesla? That guy is a shoe-in for a Darwin award...
“The tab included $750 for labour and $29,600 for the battery plus the 10 per cent GST. “
hmmm.
The carmaker announced that the battery replacement for LEAF models from 2011 through to 2015 will come with a price tag of $5,499, including the installation (as well as the additional adaptor kit that 2011 and 2012 cars require in order to be compatible with the new energy cells).
Compared to less than 6k to rebuild the 327 in my 64 when the time comes, which still runs good, even the valve guides don’t smoke and it’s got almost 240k miles since the last overhaul, and that was when Pres.Reagan was finishing his 1st term. It’s 56 yr old technology, but it’s GOOD 56 yr old technology.
Full title: The costly reality of owning an electric car:
...
The title should be The costly reality of getting screwed by Nissan.
“That guy is a shoe-in for a Darwin award...”
Obviously you dont know what the Darwin award is.
“Compared to less than 6k to rebuild the 327 in my 64 when the time comes, “
That is about $500 more than the leaf battery replacement!
“The title should be The costly reality of getting screwed by Nissan.”
Nissan will replace the battery pack with new tech cells for $5499 including labor.
Hail Lysenkoism!
