Agreed. When the big bucks folks bought the 'bottom land'--river bottom--they cut down a lot of the cottonwoods willy-nilly. Making no use of the merit in cutting down all the cotton producing ones. Dumb.

I forget--I think it's salt cedar that soaks up so much water in the Southwest. Cottonwoods do fair at that, too, IIRC.

Congress passed, and Pres. Bush signed the 2006 Secure Fence Act to create a barrier (wall) on the southern border. Under Obama (Soetoro) then Homeland Security head Janet Napolitano was given 45-50 billion dollars to implement this legislation. What happened to those taxpayer dollars? Why are we still arguing about this?
