oxygen masks don’t fit snugly...The same in the Army; can't get a proper gas mask seal with a beard.

That’s what I was wondering...and also masks that prevent poisons...good luck...there were controversies at Intel back in the 80s with beards for those working in Fabs...safety issues.

Let’s see how the oxygen masks seal in a decompression. In fact, let’s put them in a sim at high altitude and test their fortitude. Ten or fifteen minutes should do it.

First my preamble. I don’t believe Muslims should be in the armed services. or teaching school for that matter.
I have seen many photos of civil war soldiers. Lots of soldiers and officers and generals wearing beards. Commander in chief wore a beard. wore a beard.
My father was a scout in world war II 3rd army. Shaved now and then, mostly had bearded running through forests and up hills. Scouted Battle of the Bulge for german positions.
Not convinced military shouldn’t have beards with some regulations.
