DAY 15: REPUBLICANS HAVE FIGURED OUT EARLY VOTING, AND DEMOCRATS NEED WEEKEND MIRACLE.
The Florida Squeeze ^ | 10/27/18 | David Trotter

Bronough Street, we have a problem.

That problem for Democrats is that Republicans have figured out early voting. The one “ace up the sleeve” for Democrats in Florida has been offset by an aggressive early voting campaign by Republicans. In fact, 7,152 more Republicans have voted early compared to Democrats. When Democrats make small gains in Broward, Miami-Dade, Hillsborough and, yes, Duval Counties, Republicans are making significantly larger early vote gains in Sarasota, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, and almost every other Republican-leaning county in the state. Remember when I said at the beginning of the election that the Florida Panhandle was close? Not anymore! Escambia is still interesting, but Okaloosa and Santa Rosa Counties are on track to perform better for DeSantis than they did for Trump in 2016.

Nothing I could do. There were news stories, but the democRATs would not investigate themselves and now the news stories have all been scrubbed from what I can tell. I could ask my county officials how that could happen, but I know it would bring me unwanted government attention like SWAT raids.

From the article:

In fact, 7,152 more Republicans have voted early compared to Democrats.

The Tampa Bay Times is reporting that Republicans are more than 61,000 votes ahead of Dems.

Wife and I voted today in Jacksonville, Florida. Two for DeSantis, Scott, and Rutherford (and everyone else with a (REP) after their name).

Voted early in 2016 for the very first time. My wife was due to have a baby and I didn't want to risk spending Election Day in a delivery room and miss the opportunity to vote for that great man.

Turned out it was so convenient I'll probably vote early from here on out.

Because I was military and overseas a lot, I was used to voting absentee. I returned to my hometown in Jersey for a few years after retirement from the USMC, voting was easy, I would drive my elderly Mom to my old elementary school to vote with me. Last year I moved to Florida, Hillsborough County. It was so easy to vote by mail in the Primary, I decided to do the same for the General, plus my wife is still working. Boy, am I glad I did. The ballot was huge, with 13 referendums. The local paper here is an echo chamber of the national MSM, they are no help at all, it’s safer just to vote contrary to what they recommend. That said, when I received the ballots in the mail, the top races were easy. It took research on the internet to find out which judges were worth voting for. 2 ballots sent in Friday. With all those questions on the ballot, the lines will swell when people take the time to read them. Hopefully that will make non serious voters like D-Rats turn around and go home.

I intend to go vote on Monday. In the meantime, I had a Democrat running for State Rep for my district come by as he canvassed the neighborhood. I gave him back his flyer. It seems folks are increasingly more ashamed to state their party affiliation anymore.

Anyway, he asked me what made me not want to vote Democrat. I told him that I disagreed with the basic Democrat platform, and then brought up Mad Maxine, and the lack of scruples demonsrtated by Democrats nationally.

He fully agreed, and by the expression on his face, he wasn’t the least bit surprised. He seemed like a very nice man, and I felt bad for him. He seemed like a decent man. He walked away looking discouraged. Politically, that’s a good sign.

1Even though he is wanting to repeal taxes on groceries, I still won’t vote for him.
