Bride threatens guests when only seven people said they'd attend her destination wedding.

t seems that every other day, a Bridezilla meltdown goes viral. Last month, a bride “vented” on Facebook after her guests declined a $1500 donation towards her special day.

And today, another bride has some… warped expectations about her wedding.

In a viral Facebook post posted to Reddit, a bride has completely slammed her guests for not RSVPing to her $2000 destination wedding in Hawaii. She began by admitting that a $3000 wedding in Thailand might have been too much. But that a $2000 Hawaii destination wedding is “within everyone’s reach”. Except, erm… It’s not.

They’re ruining “her” day. The poor sap should take the ring and walk away.

We had a destination wedding.
Somewhere (Lake Placid NY) everyone could get to, wanted to go, and could afford.
80+ showed up, a perfect size crowd.

You can pick a desirable destination without the major time/money/effort of Hawaii et al.

My brother got married in the Philippines for crying out loud and no one bitched about it. All of my brother’s 20 friends from college, high school etc. paid for their airfare. The only thing the guests “bitched” about was the damn humidity, even when we were beside the ocean!

You too? See my last post. My brother is married to a Filipina and got married in the Philippines. Not one of his friends (20 plus went to Cebu from the US) whined about it, except for the damn heat!

They seemed pretty excited...

Did they start discussing dates?

I swear, if I ever get married, I’m going to do a simple civil ceremony and then hold a modest celebration some time afterward, like my Aunt and Uncle did. People can come . . . or not. I’m not sure I’m going to care at this point. Since I’m 51, the fewer the better may be the rule.

Oh, and my Aunt and Uncle recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.

My wedding was held at a very fancy hotel. We had so many doctors there you couldn’t have died if you wanted to.

I danced with the obligatory family members and wife, then headed for the mile long buffet table to eat as much as I could of good food because I knew my wife couldn’t cook.

Not a good scenario after I returned from a jungle with amoebic dysentery and “trench foot”. I needed to eat!!!!

Good point. But I was thinking, a story can be clickbait whether the underlying “facts” of the story are true or false.

I wonder if this story has any basis in reality at all or is just a lie for the purposes of getting advertising clicks.

I always presumed destination weddings were simply a plea for a gift without expectation that many will show.
