I think that’s exactly the point.
Why bother watching a beauty pageant when you have 24/7 access to whatever kind of porn you want? And if porn isn’t your thing, you still have access to hot pictures of women in whatever amount of clothes you prefer.
The women’s movement may have weakened beauty pageants, but it’s really the porn industry that killed them.
