. As valedictorian of his high school class, Ben Bowling thought a lot about what he would say in his speech at graduation. The high school senior from Bell County, Kentucky, stepped up to the podium and offered some words of wisdom for his classmates and their families.
"This is the part of my speech where I share some inspirational quotes I found on Google," Bowling said. "'Don't just get involved. Fight for your seat at the table. Better yet, fight for a seat at the head of the table.' - Donald J. Trump."
The crowd erupted with applause. Then Bowling interrupted their cheers.
"Just kidding," Bowling said. "That was Barack Obama."
The 18-year-old said after he revealed it was not Mr. Trump who said the quote, but actually Mr. Obama, the crowd quickly went silent.
Bowling, who graduated on Saturday morning, said he "didn't mean anything bad by it" and thought the moment was lighthearted and funny, the Louisville Courier Journal reports. "I just thought it was a really good quote," Bowling said.

He was not supposed to be the valedictorian. Another student was supposed to do it decided to bring a bottle of water filled with vodka to school a week before classes ended and have some fun. This student of course got caught and punishment was no valedictorian and suspended the rest of the school year.
This students speech as Sum a-cum-laude was I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE VALEDICTORIAN AND THEY TOOK IT AWAY FROM ME! So as you can see this is one screwed up school system. My oldest son attended to watch his sister-in-law graduate and said it was a sad event, especially listening to the superintendent have her butt kissed by the board of education and then her get up and talk for twenty minutes trying to justify the unreal and continuing tax increases she has hammered the county residents with over the last four years. My son wanted to yell sit down and shut up for once, this day is not about you princess!!!
Cute. But that’s a two way street. I could post a bunch of Trump quotes saying that Obama said them, lefties would cheer, and then they’d be shocked when the truth was revealed.

I can clearly see why bringing vodka to a school in Kentucky Bourbon country would lead to one being denied being valedictorian. Heck, he’s lucky he is not in prison.
But this Bowling kid, that tricked a crowd and disrespected President Trump should have been expelled.

There are countless videos where Trump quotes are read as Obama’s and the people on the street eat it up. What this kid did was asinine and disingenuous. Words do matter but actions speak much louder of course. NOBODY can say after eight years of Obama that they are better off unless they are a bureaucrat, criminal or welfare recipient.
Nice that the crowd was eager to applaud our President, though.
As the uncle of a high school Valedictorian, such commencement speeches are monitored and guided by one of the school's administrators...........

The thing is obammer likely never wrote a full sentence in his life that actually meant anything. He has had speech writers and probably thesis writers for such mundane stuff.

I understand what you’re saying, but I don’t think it’s correct to say this is a completely negative quote. If it read “kill for your seat at the table” then yes, that’s totally a thug mindset. I read the word fight as struggle, or strive. The table in the context of this quote is not a dinner table where one is expected to share with the poor and the less fortunate, but rather a council or a meeting table.
So, “strive for your seat on the council” to me rings rather true. If our candidates and leaders don’t struggle among the most ruthless of them to have their voice be heard our way of living will soon be lost.
