What the left's anti-Second Amendment crusade is really about
American Thinker ^ | 20 May, 2018 | Andrew Wheelwright

This discusses a reaction to the gun control debate. I am convinced that the left's war on the Second Amendment has nothing to do with public safety (even if some of their foot soldiers believe it individually, and even though the argument is renewed frequently, especially but not exclusively if a gun is used in a crime). The leaders, however, know that if fundamental transformation becomes complete, and their brand of communism is finally installed in America, allowing their totalitarian impulses to be released, it will require the installation of the usual leftist police state to maintain their power and control, complete with re-education camps and all the rest, and there will inevitably be revolts against the new regime. After all, this is "the land of the free and the home of the brave," and many people are proud of that. Suppression of what is considered a birthright (thinking for oneself) will be resented. Thus, the war on guns is nothing more or less than our aspiring progressive oppressors' pre-emptive attempt to get guns out of the hands of those who are most likely to revolt – those who prefer freedom to "Daddy, may I?"

“All leftist regimes disarm their subjects before the boot is placed on the throat.”

And that is all there is to it. Preparation steps. I would expand the interested parties to include all statists, leftist or not.

Are you sure all the cops would want to go along with shooting or disarming civilians who don’t have a criminal record?

The ones who will not go along will be quickly replaced by new ones who will.

Most of the staff will follow orders from the ranking officers.

When the paychecks and pensions stop coming, a lot of organizations will become "unreliable".

This sounds like an old movie I remember from a long time ago. I think I know how it turns out

Owning guns is like voting for Trump... something many people don’t dare admit to. Makes for amusing surprises for the Left on a regular basis.

Confiscation -> cattle cars -> mountains of skulls

-THAT- is what the left’s anti-Second Amendment crusade is really about.

Please note my post #10 and check out the use of GVROs in California. The state now has its own confiscation squad and they are knocking on doors.

These raids need to be video’d and made to go viral!

I don’t let on that I own guns but I will tell anyone who asks that I voted for Trump.

It’s not a thoughtcrime yet if you don’t live in a blue state.

I think the States are being left out of the equation. In the last Civil War, the States voted to secede. Individuals were not taking up arms against the Federal government.

So in this scenario, the LEFT states would go along and the RIGHT states would not.

Gotta get rid of the guns because armed citizens just won’t get in the boxcar.

I live in Los Angeles. But a couple of more years should see me free to return to the Midwest. Then I can breathe again.

School shootings claim less than 100 lives per year.
No law will ever stop school shootings. None has so far.
Confiscation will not work either. A fervent attempt will cost about 400,000 lives.
That's over 4,000 years worth of school shootings.

If the Confiscation is successful, then it is very likely that tens of millions will be killed in the decade that follows.
That's 100,000+ years of school shootings.

Ask your local Liberal if those prices are worth the good feelings that they're seeking for "doing something" about a few dead kids... tragic, but far less horrific than their alternatives.

Could someone who uses a gun to defend themselves be subject to the GVRO?

They don't care about the kids.

If they did, they would immediately start training people, including teachers, how to use weapons to protect their children. Instead, they use totally ineffective methods such as stricter gun laws, 'no guns' signs, etc., which DELAY the protection of the children.

Yes, I agree with the author, they want to allow more and more shootings to get the kids and leftist parents more and more riled up. They want them to demand the voting age be changed. This would ensure that teens would be able to determine the gun rights of mature adults who would lose the right to protect themselves and their families.

They do not care about the kids.

They do not care about the kids.

Recall that Ayers said to bring about the kind of change the Left wants would require 20,000,000 dead.

So yes.

To the Left the 400,000 is a small "price to pay" to bring about their change.

School shootings claim less than 100 lives per year.

Texting while driving, drugs, suicide, drunk driving, bad driving, gang shootings all claim more than 100 per year. Why aren't we doing something about those??

Have to get rid of the guns because fighting armed people has a chance or your side losing some in the process. Less resistance makes it easier. I could see with all the drones guided missiles, and snipers that the other side could bring up, they would eventually win, but I am willing to bet that a lot are too cowardly to try being among the unlucky few who gets killed.
