This discusses a reaction to the gun control debate. I am convinced that the left's war on the Second Amendment has nothing to do with public safety (even if some of their foot soldiers believe it individually, and even though the argument is renewed frequently, especially but not exclusively if a gun is used in a crime). The leaders, however, know that if fundamental transformation becomes complete, and their brand of communism is finally installed in America, allowing their totalitarian impulses to be released, it will require the installation of the usual leftist police state to maintain their power and control, complete with re-education camps and all the rest, and there will inevitably be revolts against the new regime. After all, this is "the land of the free and the home of the brave," and many people are proud of that. Suppression of what is considered a birthright (thinking for oneself) will be resented. Thus, the war on guns is nothing more or less than our aspiring progressive oppressors' pre-emptive attempt to get guns out of the hands of those who are most likely to revolt – those who prefer freedom to "Daddy, may I?"

Are you sure all the cops would want to go along with shooting or disarming civilians who don’t have a criminal record?
Armed citizens are an occupational hazard to criminals.
Before they confiscate, they have to register all firearms.
Since that’s not going to happen except in a few nutbar blue states, they will create an army of snitches to tell the po-po who has guns.
Using newly proliferating Red Flag/GVRO laws, the snitch goes to the po-po and wails, “he is acting erratically, he threatened me, and he has guns!” By the way, the snitch does not have to be a family member.
Po-po goes to a judge, GVRO is issued, there’s a knock on the door, and owner’s guns are seized and with no prior notification. Due process be d@mned.
Watch California. Google “GVRO abuse” and be afraid.
Pretty soon “he threatened me and he has guns” will become “he voted for Trump, and he has guns!”
The new snitch laws will be wildly overused.
They are already seriously working on doing away with the First.
Please note post #10. If a GVRO is dropped on you, it’s like the Lautenburg question on BATFE 4473. Forever barred from owning a firearm.
It would require a second Civil War to confiscate all guns. Apparently that is the Left’s real plan, total chaos.
