Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg tells NBC News in a new interview that users of the popular social media platform would have to pay a subscription fee in order to avoid the company's data-driven advertisements. "We don't have an opt-out at the highest level," Sandberg told NBC's Savannah Guthrie in an interview airing Friday on the "Today" show amid heightened scrutiny of the company's data-driven ad practices. "That would be a paid product."

Queen Lean Forward speaks and it is as concerning for the peasants as "Let Them Eat Cake". This self-righteous ***** has shown her true colors under stress.

Facebook should be banned from collecting personal data on its users. Period.

Facebook is run by Liberals. Liberals believe that everything should be free. So, they should operate Facebook for free. No ads, and no collecting data on users.

“It’s free and always will be.”

Why do I know her company’s policy better than the wildly overrated Sandberg?

It is becoming more and more evident that without data mining there is no Facebook. No surprise really. Facebook will survive, I’m sure plenty of the DC Swamp Creatures are in their back pocket. I would have no issue if that Putz Zuckerberg takes a hit or two, something about that punk I can’t quite put my finger on, but he is dangerous IMO.

I know a better, and cheaper, way to “opt out of FB ads”...

DON’T USE FACEBOOK.

Lemme guess, you will have to pay to opt out of EACH ad, not a blanket subscription fee.

That’s the model, nickel and dime at every turn.

PS, this week I started seeing paid-ad messages in my Fakebook mailbox.

They now sell SPAM delivery and dare allege that “Trump” somehow abused their platform.

Lousy Rat whores.

Uses will now have to pay us, to stop ads and more breaches."

It sends you stuff you are likely to be interested in. It’s your choice to use it or not.

The only way FB makes money is to sell your information.

That is it. You are not a consumer, you are the product.

So game the system. I had an alternate account that I set up just to see how far I could skew the metadata. Turns out pretty far.

“Sheryl Sandberg: Facebook users would have to pay to opt out of ads”

You cannot delete your Facebook account. Their version of delete is you can permanently suspend your account.

What FB should do is let anyone who has joined from day 1 until today, opt out and delete, then put the new rule in starting tomorrow. That would be the fair way to do it.

Uh, yeah...there is an "opt-out", it's call "account termination".

"That would be a paid product."

Not by me...or a hell of a lot of other folks.

Die, Facebook.

Facebook should be banned from collecting personal data on its users. Period.

People should be smart enough not to give it to them in the first place.
